Travel to Montville, Eumundi, Noosa, Yandina, and the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve
Took the tour on March13th. Our driver Shane was great, giving us directions at each place we went to. Very helpful and pleasant. Only wish that during the drive from place to place he would have given more information about areas we drove through and Australia in general. He did answer any questions we had.
Our driver and guide was outstanding ! We saw some amazing sites and he pointed them out and the best places,
First Stop was the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve. It is fairly new and is well worth it. It will also improve with time. The center comprises 55 hectares of subtropical rainforest overlooking the Glass House Mountains National Landscape. A remnant of the rainforests that once covered the Blackall Range, the Reserve is a living museum of diverse plant and animal life which will delight with its tranquillity and beauty.
The reception building offers several areas where stories are told. We sat through most of them did a short walk and went in the gift shop. Without a doubt the center is magnificent but it was time to go.
Second Stop was the scenic village of Montville Specticular views from the café at the end of the street. I highly recommend you walk there and have a peek and take a few photographs. We stopped at the Waffle Shop and had a delicious waffle topped with strawberries and cream. If you want Maple Syrup on it, just ask !
Third Stop - Emundi Markets Great Place to grab a bite to eat and just walk around. It is billed as Austailias largest Market. It mainly consists of vendors selling food, clothing, arts and crafts.
Fourth Stop was Noosa This is a high end beach resort community. The beach is lovely. Lots of little shops along the way. What more can be said. It was also our least favorite because we live in a similar community year round.
Fifth and Final Stop was the Ginger Factory It is amazing to see what they can make with ginger. From Gimger Beer, Ginger Ice Cream to Ginger cookies etc. But the best part is the Cafe which not only sells ice cream both in several ginger variations but non ginger ice creams and sandwiches as well. Leave time to visit the Nut Factory Across the street where you can taste samples and buy wholesale nuts.
I went on this tour last weekend and had a great day! My tour guide Brian was very knowledgeable of the area and gave us lots of tips for each stop. There was plenty of time to explore at each location and my favourite stop was the eumundi markets huge variety of stalls and could buy yummy lunch!. The long drive up to Noosa was broken up with stops at two lookouts and the markets. Would definitely recommend to anyone. A day tour from Brisbane.
For the price this day trip was excellent and so glad I took it. The company turned out to be one I used last time I was in Australia. It was a big day starting at 7:30am and finishing about 5:30pm and we covered some ground. I think everyone in the bus was asleep for the drive back. Started by going into the mountains with some excellent scenery before we stopped at a lookout to see the Glasshouse Mountains and then another to look out to the coastline and the ocean. Further into the mountains we stopped at this great little village of Montville that was a bit touristy but very cute and interesting. That stop was about an hour and then onto the Eumundi markets for another hour. Best markets i've ever been too. Excellent. A short drive and we were in Noosa. Wow what a place. I could have stayed here forever but we had 90 minutes which was ok. The guide then took us down the coastal road before heading inland to the Ginger Factory at Yandina. This was really just a short break / comfort stop but was worth a look and broke the journey home.
There was a bit of driving involved but also there was a lot of stops which were of a good duration. Highly recommend this tour for the variety, excellent pace, and good program.
