Small-group tour limited to 12 people ensures a personalized experience
Meet your guide and small group of no more than 12 people at the Bristol Temple Meads Train Station, and head south through the Somerset countryside to Burrington Combe.
After getting kitted out with headlamps, head underground to explore some of the extraordinary limestone caves beneath Mendip Hills. Learn more about how the caves were naturally formed as you marvel at the impressive stalactites and stalagmites, and get a taste of caving as you scramble through the easily accessible underground passageways.
Back above ground, travel the short distance to Cheddar Gorge, where you’ll have free time for lunch (own expense) in Cheddar Village. Be sure to spend some time browsing the local shops too, where the specialty is the region’s namesake cheese – delicious British cheddar.
After meeting back up with your guide, set out on a short hike around the cliff-top of the Cheddar Gorge, and marvel at the 450-foot (137-meter) deep gorge. This is one of England’s most famous natural landscapes, so take time to admire the views with a Champagne picnic (included) overlooking the gorge.
After an action-packed day, head back to Bristol, where you’ll be dropped back at the Bristol Temple Meads Train Station.
