OMG the perfect way for a chocolate lover to spend hours in Brussels. Super informative, Cesar's tour includes 6 shops ranging in quality from good to great. With lots of important information along the way. Don't miss it if you love chocolate or if you are planning to bring chocolate treats upon your return from Brussels.
My family of 4 had a great time visiting 6 chocolate shops with our tour guide who educated us on the history of chocolate in Brussels, the history of each chocolatier, and the sources of their ingredients. My 14 and 10 year old daughters had fun and liked our guide a lot.
We met our tour guide, Joy, and went on a tour of 6 chocolate shops. 3 Belgium and 3 French. All great. I would have never found the French quarter by myself, and I thought those were the best chocolates. There was about a 15 minute walk uphill to get there, but in the end it was definitely worth it.
Our guide Analise, is wonderful and knowledgeable. She has given us great background on the history of chocolate making, and was very helpful with answering our questions and explaining each store's specialty. The tour itself is great. The stores we visited were of a great variety and so were the chocolates sample, and there was so much chocolate some members thought they have reached their own chocolate consumption limit luckily there is none for me though. It was a fun and educational tour, and I would highly recommend this tour to any chocolate lover.
I rarely rarely ever write reviews, but this tour was fabulous. Our guide was amazing, so nice, and it was a great way to see the city. I also liked the fact that he started out by saying that there is no sales push during the tour - we didn't have to buy anything. I have never tasted such delicious chocolate. My boyfriend and I combined spent about 100 in chocolate, which may sound absurd but if you taste it you'll d totally understand why. I have never tasted such high quality chocolate before.
So much fun and great chocolate. The only change I would make is ending close to where we started. Tour finished away from the starting spot and it was not easy navigating back to the hotel from there. Our hotel was just off the Grand Market.
