Traveler Tips

Fortunately for travellers a day tour from Brussels going to Luxembourg is available with an added bonus.
Travelling to Denante in the dark was not really worthwhile - impossible to see anything (even the church had a service so we couldn't enter).

Great trip! Well planned. Had a great time.

Amazing trip. It's very well planned and laid out. Had a great time. Tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable.
Even though the tour...
Marilou_R, Aug 2022
Even though the tour didn’t include a visit to the lower casemate, my husband and I were able to descend & explore on our own. So glad we had sufficient time to do so. It’s worth the trip as it makes it easy to transport you back in time.
Luxembourg and Dinant - Great Places to Visit
Peter_L, Aug 2022
Terrific tour! We enjoyed learning about Luxembourg and seeing the city. Our guide was excellent, answering all our questions and helping us find our way. We also had fun in Dinant.
Great Tour to Dinant and Luxembourg
Katherine_C, Jul 2022
I highly recommend this tour! The trip itself takes about 12 hours (9:00 - 9:00 pm), so you’re able to see two cities. The bus didn’t have a bathroom but they make a stop both ways for restroom facilities. One other tip: our bus didn’t have charging ports so keep your phone on airplane mode! As other folks have noted, the longer stop is in Luxembourg. We had about 3-3.5 hours in the main city. The first 45-60 minutes is a walking tour and then you can get lunch. We only had about 45 minutes at the second stop in Dinant. I wish we could have had a bit more time in Dinant but completely understand the limitations of time. You need to eat a big lunch in Luxembourg - otherwise you’ll be hungry on the bus ride home! Our tour guide Miriam was lovely! She was from Madrid and spoke English and Spanish fluently. She was also incredibly patient with a rude tourist on our bus who kept complaining about how he lost his hat on a tour to Bruges and no one would help him. First of all, that was a completely different tour so I’m not sure how Miriam could have helped him. Secondly, it’s a hat! Let it go. That said, there is one super annoying tourist on every one of these trips but as long as you zone them out and ignore them, you will have a great time!!!!
Great day
Funmilayo_O, Jul 2022
It was a day packed up with activities. I feel the time spent in Luxembourg was too much. I would have preferred more time in Dinnant. Overall it was a pleasant experience

City’s sightseeing’s are amazing recommend this to anyone want to see Luxembourg on a very short trip, and learn more about the history of this beautiful country.
Dinant and Luxembourg taster will leave you wanting more…
Mathew_O, Jul 2022
As a solo traveler (and someone that likes to be independent) with a limited amount of time, this tour allowed me to visit two places I wouldn’t have been able to get to. I liked the flexibility of being able to stay with the tour guide or head off to explore on my own. The tour was well organised, the bus comfortable and the guide knowledgeable and friendly. Both places exceeded my expectations and left me wanting to return in the future. Bring your walking shoes - there is so much to see!
Excellent tour guide and safe bus ride.
Charlene_G, Jul 2022
Dinant was a wonderful town to visit. Will return some other time to spend a few more hours. Luxembourg was beautiful. Definitely need to g back for an overnight trip.
A weak guide means a weak tour
Susan, Jul 2022
The guide was so weak that it made the experience boring. He mumbled and thus we missed most of what he said, including his name. I think he k ew his stuff but no one could hear him. Such a disappointment.
First there is Luxembourg - but there is still DINANT... to be seen and believed!
Glen_E, Jul 2022
The long drive from Brussels to the Duchy of Luxembourg was attractive through the Ardenne forests, but the city visit was somewhat disappointing after the splendors of Brussels and Bruges. Significantly, the lunch break was too long and should be shortened, enabling a longer and more comprehensive visit to Belgium's little-known gem of a village - Dinant, which enthralled us as well as most of our fellow-travelers!! You sincerely need to consider this re-arrangement of priorities for this tour option - we could easily have spent most of the day in this enchanting spot! Our guide, Miriam, was sweet, friendly and super-efficient in her attitude and duties.
Perfect day trip to Luxembourg!
NYEKEVA_B, Jul 2022
I really enjoyed this day trip to Luxembourg and would recommend to anyone wanting to see the country on a tight schedule! Going during the summer when you have the sun for longer periods of time is ideal (esp helpful on the evening trip to Dinant). Maria was also an absolutely lovely guide & we were lucky to have her on this tour!

Worthwhile day trip
Amanda_L, Jul 2022
Enjoyed this day trip- both Dinant and Luxembourg were interesting to see and I felt a day trip was more than sufficient to see these places. Both very different from Brussels! The views were beautiful and the tour offered flexibility in either going on a guided tour or doing your own thing. It was a lot of time on the bus but that is to be expected given the distance and the bus was comfortable. The guide helped us see places I never would have found on my own but I wish he’d shared more interesting stories and tidbits- as it was though he was navigating giving the tour in two languages which was a lot.

Bus ride was uncomfortable
ajay, Jul 2022
Bus was too hot. No AC and very uncomfortable. Travel time took too long and we barely had time to see the actual sites.

Do your own research. And map out the city in your own before you go.
Teal_M, Jul 2022
Don’t do it if you are jet lagged! And do your own research on Luxembourg. We didn’t and I really felt like we missed out on some pretty awesome history. Our tour guide was nice but we couldn’t understand anything she said. Extremely bad broken English, I could understand more in Spanish then English. And she spoke so so fast. Make note of where the bathrooms are and ask. Many other people on the tour were disappointed as well because the tour guide will make or break your tour.
Good but wouldn’t do it again
Vimarsh_C, Jun 2022
The tour is fine and no issues with the general concept. However, I would spend a couple of days in Luxembourg instead of a couple of hours. Lesson learned for next time. The tour is too regulated and not much free time is given - however, the itinerary is clear and we knew this going in. So in short, wouldn’t recommend to a friend.

The driver Elvis was excellent! Unfortunately the guide did not provide a great tour in Luxembourg, disappointing.
Worth it to experience a bit of Luxembourg
Patricia_E, Jun 2022
Great day trip with an energetic and informative guide. While a long ride on the bus, worth it to see a little bit of Luxembourg. Left me wanting to go back and see more of the country. Loved the stop in Dinant on the way home.

Fantastic tour! Highly recommend!
Nino_V, Jun 2022
Our tour guide Albert with Brussels City Tours was very knowledgeable, organised, and had an excellent sense of humour, which made our trip so memorable. We had about 30 min guided tour & 30 min of free time in Dinant, and 60 min guided tour & 2.5 hours of free time in Luxembourg. Despite the rain, we learned a lot and enjoyed our tour very much! Would highly recommend this experience to anyone!
An amazing trip
Haifa_A, Jun 2022
The are very organized company. Staff there are very helpful. That is my second trip with. Our guide was Mary. She is very nice, fanny, and informative. First we visited Luxembourg, is a beautiful city with nice views. Then we visited Dinant, which a small town with stones building.
Worth it!
Lauren_G, May 2022
Fantastic day trip to see Dinant and Luxembourg. Albert, tour guide, had a great sense of humor and did a great job navigating two languages on the tour. This is perfect for someone who wants to see two beautiful places on a day trip.
