Excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable of the history and very flexible.
The tour and guide were both fantastic. The guide was at our hotel promptly at 9am, and the ride to Waterloo was comfortable and relatively quick. The tour hits all of the major portions of the battlefield, and the guide was very accommodating with requests for extra time in some areas. The guide also went out of his way to rearrange the order of the tour in order to ensure we had the best experience possible given the day's inclement weather. The battlefield itself is fairly well-preserved, and the new visitor's center facility is outstanding. If you would like to see Waterloo battlefield without renting a car, this is definitely the way to do it.
very good up front scene setting by guide with maps giving big picture
all key sites covered in correct order for good understanding
good , quirky characterful guide good sense of humour who was pleasure to be with
when a key location was not available , hougomont farm technical breakdown , took us back in his own time next day .
Our guide was very professional and informative. I recommend him highly.
I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, the guide was knowlegble and friendly, and the bus was comfortable.
This was the best way to cover all of the most important Waterloo sites! We had a wonderful guide, Florance. The group was not too large. We stopped over at the Wellington headquarters, the Waterloo battlefield visitor center completely new with great exhibits and a 15 minute 3D movie at the end, climbed the Lion Mound just expect to be out of breath by the time you climb to the top, unless you are 8 or run marathons for fun - the view is worth it, and finally, the Hougoumont farm. Until the town of Waterloo starts offering a shuttle service from their train station to all of the mentioned sites, I highly recommend this tour.
Highly interesting tour and an excellent guide. Thanks
Excellent tour. Guide most informative and efficient. Lots packed into the half day. Highlight for me was the new centre at Hougemont Farm and the visual presentation in the barn.
Highly recommend this tour.
A very good tour, with a very informative guide. A little longer at the places of interest would have been welcome. In addition, I think the coach could have made a tour of relevant sites of the battles fought on that day, as they are all very close together. Also the many monuments and definitely where Wellington and Blucher met.
Our guide, Jean met on at the train station and whisked us away to Waterloo. He had a video for us to watch about Waterloo, but it was in French, so the pictures were nice, but no subtitles. The museum at Waterloo was beautiful, although we did not stay long, We wanted to have time at Hugamont. So glad we did because they have am amazing movie of the battle that you would have to see to appreciate. Very creative! We really enjoyed our visit and Jean was very informative and very nice.
