Cristina was our guide. She was knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about the culture, the architecture and the food. It was just my husband and I and we felt that we not only learned and tasted many things, we felt that Chris went out of her way to make our tour enlightening and enjoyable.
I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a behind the scenes view of Bucharest together with some great food. It was the best tour I took during my entire stay. Bogdan had a wealth of information to share about the history of the city and I walked away feeling like I knew significantly more about Bucharest than when I started - count yourself lucky if you get him as your guide. I recommend taking this tour towards the start of your trip to best take advantage of the background provided. Note that this is a walking tour, so be prepared to walk for a couple hours - you will be rewarded with fresh food from the market at the end.
Our guide, Dana, did a wonderful job giving us a behind the scenes tour of neighborhoods that are not part of the tourist area. She explained the many architecture styles and gave us a history lesson at the same time. Dana took us to several local restaurants where we sampled excellent local dishes and beers.
I want to thank her again for making our first full day in Bucharest very special!
Boggie took us around the inner city streets for a fascinating city tour with interesting food stops to try the local delicacies. Love the sweet tomatoes and local beers and 'rocket fuel'. A great tour, great weather, great food, great guide. A fantastic 4 hours really well spent and very memorable.
We joined Dana and some other travellers, and the torrential rain. Thankfully the rain stopped while we were in the the first bar. We found Dana good humoured, interested in us all, and a font of knowledge about her City. We booked the tour because it was our first visit to Bucharest, and would recommend it. Dana was not only keen to talk about her Country, but also gave people recommendations about where to visit next, restaurants near where people were staying etc
We had a great tour with Andrei. He was very entertaining. It was very hot and Andrei let us choose when we needed a stop for drinking and resting.
Andrei knew and told so much about Romanian history, architecture, religion, cultures and traditions. We were really impressed and very much entertained with his stories.
We didn't have breakfast in the morning because we read in the reviews not to eat before the tour. And they were absolutely right. Different kinds of delicious food are served during the day.
it was superb! Thank you Andrei!
Andre was terrific - great command of English, great knowledge of history, and in general a fine person with a good sense of humor and kind manner. We saw neighborhoods we would not have known to seek out and were very impressing with the market. We ate at a picnic table on food purchase and mici grilled outside. We also road on public transportation. It was all a great experience and a good time.
