  • Private full-day tour of three Transylvania highlights from Bucharest
  • Ideal for travellers with limited time in Romania
  • Tick off Peles Castle, Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle), and Black Church in Brasov
  • Small-group tour limited to 15 travellers
On the morning of your tour, board a private vehicle at your Bucharest hotel and discuss the day’s itinerary with your personal guide. During the 2.5-hour journey towards Transylvania, you’ll pass through the unspoiled landscapes of the Prahova Valley to Sinaia, home to Peles Castle.
On arrival at the Neo-Renaissance wonder, built in the 19th-century for the Romanian royal family, explore some of the castle’s 160 rooms, all of which are adorned with luxurious upholstery and antique furniture. Admire an array of styles, including Gothic, Baroque, and French Rococo, before you proceed to Bran’s Castle.
Arguably the crowning architectural feature of Transylvania, Bran’s Castle boasts rusted-red turrets and imposing stonewalls. As you explore, hear of how Vlad the Impaler was incarcerated in the dungeons and learn of the castle’s associations with Bram Stoker’s legendary monster, Dracula.
Then, continue to Brasov to visit the Black Church, a medieval landmark constructed in the 13th century. Hear of its resilient defiance of attacks before you return to your private vehicle and relax during the journey back to your Brasov hotel.

Alex picked us up from our hotel and gave us a wonderful history lesson on our way up to the castles. We enjoyed Bran and Peles Castles and the town of Brasov. We were a few days ahead of our tours on our riverboat cruise and knocked out these 3 places so that we could have a chance to see more things during our boat tours. Perfect day! We all would recommend Alex...we all enjoyed him and his expertise.

The day trip to Peele's Castle, Dracula's Castle, and the Black Church was WONDERFUL!!! Our private guide was a wonderful tour guide and made the trip extra special. We had our two children with us and it was the perfect day trip.

Our guide was Alex and he was awesome right from the start. We spent 13 hours with him and we felt completely at ease throughout the day. Nothing was too much trouble with Alex - he encouraged us to take as long as we wished wherever we visited. He was fabulous to converse with - informative, passionate about Romania and clearly wanting us to make the most of the country, too. If you are lucky enough to spend a day with Alex, you are in for a real treat he plays the best tunes ever - driving through the Bucegi Mountains singing along to AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck' is an experience we'll never forget. Book with this company for guides!!

This was an amazing tour! Cristi, our tour guide was such a nice guy and a very knowledgeable guide. He picked us up from our hotel and we travel in a very comfortable car with AC. For all the attractions we visited, he took care of the priority entry and explained all the history and facts so well. We were mesmerized by the beauty of the Peles Castle. We believe it to be one of the most beautiful castle you could ever see in Eastern Europe. Cristi explained all the details and each room's specifics. He made our tour so enjoyable and had a great time together. We also got to stop at Sinaia Monastery which is such a gem. We also loved the Bran Castle and how Cristi explained its history, and we enjoyed the trip to Brasov and visit to the Black Church. We highly recommend this tour to all tourists visiting Romania.

I can say that I felt in love with Romania and his spectaculars landscape. I really enjoyed to learn the Romanian history trough the story of the royal family , the legend of Dracula and the religious events. I was lucky to have a guide full of information that she gave me at the best moments of the trip. Very good communication in French and English that make me feel comfortable in a friendly ambiance. I really recommend this trip to everyone who likes nature and history together with a nice and cosy trip inside the Romanian Carpati. I

Lovely tour!

The tour guide picked me up from the hotel reception and we had a lovely conversation about Bucharest and Romania during the last 100 years. Christy is a great tour guide, that provides you a lot of information so the time passed really quickly until we arrived to Peles Castle.

The traffic was okay, but Christy told me that sometimes there is traffic jam, because of the large number of tourists that visit the attractions, so I was lucky to spend resonable time in the car.
Dracula's castle was a bit crowded, but I guess that's normal, judging by its wonderful history.
For lunch, the tour guide suggested we have some traditional food which made me realize how amazing Romanian Cuisine is!

Overall, it was an amazing experience and since I am staying for another week in Bucharest, I am planning to have another tour.

Great value for the money spent!

A 5 private tour: excellent tour with very knowledgeable guide, beautiful private car and great value for money.

The tour was very well organised. Our guide Tudor was very enthusiastic and told us so many interesting stories about the castles and Romanian history. I recommend it for a great time!

I can consider myself lucky to have such a passionate and knowledgeable guide. Andrew made me understand that I was witnessing a unique event in the history of Romania. We got the Peles Castle in the same day in which King Michael coffin was brought. A small procession took place in front of the palace and was so touching.
Andrew called the king the last moral example for Romanians and he told me about his role in shortening the Second World War. At he end of the day, I felt that I received more than a leasson of history, a leasson about the values of an old world.

From the start to the end of this tour, I felt extremely rushed. It felt like a disproportionate amount of time in the car to get to the locations as it did actually visiting the locations. I felt the guide was unprofessional and didn't offer much commentary. Overall, it wasn't a great value for the money spent.

Our private day trip to the Romanian countryside for 2 was AMAZING! Our tour guide was Cristi and he was incredible!!!! He picked us up in a very nice, clean, new car with AC. He was so informative and knew everything historical about Romanian, the castles, Bucharest and countryside. His lunch recommendation in Brasov was top notch too! Cristi was an absolute joy to hangout with all day and we felt so lucky to have such an excellent tour guide and all around wonderful person. My sister-in-law and I would highly highly recommend this tour and Cristi with 5 stars and even more if we could. We felt safe, informed and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Romania!

Visiting Dracula's Castle was a high note of our visit to Romania and something most people identify with. The day was a bit more driving than anticipated. One person in our party finds walking long distances quite difficult and was noted on the reservation, and there are no accommodation at all at the Peles or Dracula's Castle for handicapped/minimal walking tourists. Brasov was nice, but nothing special...same for the Black Church. Lunch in Brasov was quite good. Our guide was very good and we enjoyed his attempt to do everything he could to make the day a great experience despite the inability of one in party to see either castle, BUT asked if he could use an electronic cigarette. He did leave the window open for the vapor to escape, but the smell was not anticipated for the ride. This should never be a question asked of anyone taking a private tour.

Although the trip is rather long we enjoyed it,
The Peles Castle is well worth seeing and the drive through the countryside was spectacular
Our guide was very friendly and gave us a lot of information about every place we visited
We certainly recommend this tour

Great sights and a packed day, but we lost 2 extra hours in traffic due to congestion on the only road. This was not the guides fault, but we were not warned about this while booking the tour. Florian was a pleasant guide, but we later learned he didn't mention some of the highligjts e.g. did not tell us that there was an elevator installed for queen Mary at Bran at the location of the courtyard well, etc.. Also, it would have been nice to at least have some alone time for coffee/lunch and not to have the guide with us all the time. Also, we did not get inside the Black Church - we did get the ticket money back, but would have preferred to enter. All in all, a good tour - a lot of driving so don't go during weekends since then it is even worse.

Amazing sites and Florin was absolutely wonderful in showing them!

It's quite a bit of driving but Stefaan shared lots of historical and current information on Romania and that also made the visits more worthwhile. I liked Dracula's castle a lot, but I could see that some people might be disappointed. It's not a scary castle, that's for sure.

We had a private tour for 2. The guide was great. Very knowledgeable and personable- born and raised in Bucharest. Restaurant choice in Brasov was great. Surprised about the real history of the castle, which has nothing to do with Vlad the Impaller (Dracula).

This was a private tour and it was me and my fiancee, so we were in a very comfortable luxury car. Our tour guide, Val, was fun to listen to when he was giving us info about the various locations. When we went, Peleș was closed that day, due to Easter, if I remember correctly. However, we were still able to look around the castle which honestly at least for me was totally worth it as that interested me more than the interior. Since we had gained some time and the snow wasn't blocking the road, Val took us up to a view point that gave us a GORGEOUS view of the valley. Though the drive rendered my fiancee a little car sick with all the switchbacks. The rest of the tour was just as awesome and the restaurant we ate at for lunch in Brașov was awesome though watch out for that first step!. I would recommend NOT planning anything for the evening of though. There was enough walking and wandering that we both fell asleep in the car on the way back and once we got back to the hotel, it was just dinner and bed for us.

My friend and I had a great time. The tour was everything we could have for. Our guide was great, the sites were amazing, and all of the logistics were handled smoothly. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bucharest.
