What You Can Expect

After morning pickup at your Bucharest hotel, meet your private guide for the day and travel in a 4x4 off-road vehicle into the legendary region of Transylvania, framed by the majestic Carpathian Mountains. Near the charming Saxon village of Sinaia, visit the Woodcraft Carpathian Museum and Posada Castle, a river stone mansion built by Lord Gheorghe Bibescu in the mid-19th century.

Continue onto Peles Castle, a resplendent German Neo-Renaissance estate nestled in the forest. Conceived as the summer residence of the former Romanian royal family, it is considered among the most beautiful castles in all of Europe, with 160 rooms adorned with treasures like Murano chandeliers, Turkish silk embroideries, teak furniture, and frescoes by Gustav Klimt and Frantz Matsch.

Next up, visit the 17th-century Sinaia Monastery, a working Orthodox monastery designed in traditional Moldavian style. Get a dose of nature at beautiful Bolboci and Scropoasa Lakes, stopping for an optional tea and coffee break at a local cottage, before indulging in a proper lunch at the Hotel Pestera on the Bucegi Plateau (additional expense, please request in advance).

In the afternoon, visit the Ialomicioarei Cave and Monastery before returning to your Bucharest Hotel at the end of the full-day adventure.

Please note: Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and the Woodcraft Carpathian Museum is closed on Mondays.
