Agnes was a wonderful guide. Her knowledge of the culture behind the food really made the experience.
Our guide Zsuzsi became a friend by the end of the tour - cannot recommend her local knowledge and this tour highly enough.
From the moment I met Agnes, I knew this tour would be good..I was the only one on the tour , which made it even better. A tour that stated approx duration of 3 to 3 1/2 hours went for 5 hours, as Agnes went out of her way on her time, to show me extra sights and things I was interested in. Agnes was passionate about Budapest, knowledgeable about everything , and dedicated to providing as much information as I asked!! and not all of it even relevant to Hungarian cuisine!! . The food was interesting and very tasty, the restaurants exactly what I hoped for not touristy, the commentary even better. I would thoroughly recommend this tour, and already have a few friends with the Budapest Food Walking Tour on their bucket list!! Thank you Agnes, for making my last day in Europe a memorable one!!
Hunor, our tour guide was great. Very knowledgeable, prepared, and had some his own good stories to include. I liked it wasn't just about food and drinks. Not sure how many stops we had, probably about 6-8.
Feedback for the tour, I would recommend replacing soda wine stop in the winter time as probably you can enjoy it mostly during the warmer months. Though there are some good stories to be missed.
What a fantastic experience!! This is a must do while in Budapest! I was so very fortunate to be the only one on my Tour! Agnes and I not only saw the sights and experienced fantastic beverages and food! I was greeted with a smile, beverage and welcome sign. I truly felt like we were old friends that had been apart from each other and were just enjoying the stroll, sights, tastes and sounds of this beautiful city. Thank you Agnes for showing and sharing with me :
We loved this tour with Agnes. She is very passionate about Hungarian culture and food and shared so many stories. Lots of food to sample in all different parts of the city. It was the highlight of our trip to Budapest.
Agnes does an amazing guided experience through Budapest showing you the city in food. She is extremely knowledgeable and lots of fun
My wife and I enjoyed this tour which was excellent value for money. We found the tour informative and the experience will remain with us for the rest of our life. Our tour guide Agnes was exceptional her knowledge of the city gave us a different prospective of Budapest. We also enjoyed the culinary delights on the way and would highly recommend this tour and guide.
Very delightful and informative tour. Our guide, Agnes, was friendly/personable/patient, very knowledgeable and passionate in her love of Budapest. Food was good and the stories behind it were great. Wonderful way to spend a day in Budapest!
We saw the reviews and decided to give it a try and so glad we did! Livia was our tour director and did a wonderful job. The tour lasted four hours and we had an easy walk experiencing many polish traditional foods and learning the history and cultural background of the foods. This was our second trip to Budapest and one of the best tours we've done!
Agnes was great!! She was charming, knowledgeable, and engaging. The tour was really fun and informative. I would strongly recommend this tour!
We got lucky to be the only persons on this small group eating tours. We got to sample foods in the market and other non tourist areas. foods from different cultures and some trending food. Andrea did a great job explaining the food as well as the history of the city and food.
Agnes was our tour guide for this trip and she was fantastic. We were very fortunate that there was only 4 of us on this tour, and we all got along great. Agnes was not only friendly and outgoing but so knowledgeable about both Hungarian cuisine and the history of Hungary. Her stories and insights were fascinating. The food on the tour was great, plenty to try including salami's, goulash, ice-cream and strudel and it was great to visit the market which we went to a few days later also. I'd definitely recommend this to anybody visiting Budapest.
We LOVED this tour!!!!! Agness is phenomenal - very personable, very knowledgeable, so willing to share her country and culture. She took time to share not only the food but the history of the country, the culture, and areas of the city that you wander on the tour. She also gave us lots of tips about what and where to buy everything from the wines to the ingredients, and what to eat and where. The selection of food sampling was wonderful - from outstanding chocolate to watching them make strudel and selecting from many varieties to sample, to great food in the Jewish Quarter. Can't say enough about the experience. She made it by far the best food tour I have had in any country. Well worth the time and the money.
Highlight of my trip to Budapest -- Agnes, my guide, was quite charming, loaded with wonderful inforamtion and she became a dear, dear friend. I will highly recommed this tour to others!
We were very fortunate to have Agnes as our guide, she was informative, professional and friendly. I highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Budapest. Learning about the local cuisine and tasting samples while walking around the city is a wonderful way to learn about the people and culture of a country. Every city I visit I look for a viator food walking tour.
This was such a lovely tour, and I highly recommend it to anyone. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, spoke great English and took us all around the city. Starting at the market hall where we samples some sausages, we visited a chocolate shop, a great retro bar, a fish bistro, and a Jewish cafe. The tour ended with some goulash and strudel. Perfect tour.

One of the best tours we took on our entire trip. Our tour guide was amazing! Our tour ended up running about an hour over, due to pouring rain and a few slow walkers. Our guide was so passionate about Budapest, we got a taste of how locals live, politics, etc. This is a combo of a food tour and a city walking tour, which totally made up for our not satisfied walking city tour we had taken the day before.

Livia was a wonderful guide. The Central Market is amazing and she was very knowledgeable about local culture and cuisine. If you're a foodie, don't miss this one,
A great way to tour the city. Starting at the city market, tasting local sausage and cheese, then sweets at a chocolate shop, fish soup and matso soup in the Jewish quarter, ending up with goulash and strudel. A wonderful experience!
Really, really enjoyed the food walking tour. It lasted longer than I expected and I had more than enough to eat - great variety of samples that gives you a good insight into the Hungarian food. My guide Agnes was extremely knowledgeable, but most importantly it was very evident that she truly cared about her job as a guide and showing tourists the local food scene. She provided so much information on my tour about the food and other historical/cultural facts. The places we went to were all so neat and quaint, nothing commercial. This tour did not feel touristy at all, it felt very personalized and Agnes was extremely pleasant. This is definitely a must do in order to get more familiarized with the area, learn about its history, and taste some great food! I will definitely do a similar tour with her on my new visit to Budapest!
A great tour our guest de livid was knowledgeable and passionate about Hungary and its cuisine. She answered all our questions and gave us ideas of where we could go to eat.
