What You Can Expect
Danube Chamber Orchestra
Select your tour option when booking. Then, on Christmas day, travel independently to the neo-baroque Danube Palace concert hall in central Budapest for the concert.
Take a seat and applaud the Danube Chamber Orchestra as they arrive on stage. Then, lose yourself in a selection of popular classics by composers such as Strauss, Erkel, and Vivaldi
The program includes much-loved works, specially interpreted for the festive season, many accompanied by the cimbalom, Hungary’s traditional, zither-like instrument. The combination of this stringed instrument with a symphony orchestra produces a uniquely beautiful effect long enjoyed in Hungary.
Enjoy an intermission between the two 40-minute segments, and after the concert, take your leave, bringing your experience to a close. If you have upgraded to take the dinner cruise, however, leave the hall for the nearby cruise boat.
Then, spend the next 90 minutes sailing on the River Danube. Head for the open-air deck to admire the floodlit cityscape before enjoying a candlelit buffet dinner on the indoor deck, serenaded by live music. Absorb the romantic-yet-festive atmosphere, and enjoy two complimentary drinks, including a glass of Champagne.
Your concert and dinner cruise experience finishes when you step ashore.
