Enjoy the view of Budapest on the boat!

Your hop-on hop-off bus tour includes 27 stops around Hungary’s bustling capital. (Please the Itinerary below for a complete list of stops.) Your ticket is valid for 48 hours from first time of use, allowing you to sightsee at your own leisurely pace. Stick in your seat for a view of the bus’s entire loop, or hop off when you want to get out and explore the area. Audio commentary will also be available onboard to provide more information about Budapest’s rich history.

Consider hopping off at Fovam Square to explore the culinary delights of the Great Market Hall, which offers Hungarian produce, meats, spices and cheeses. Shop around from stall to stall (own expense) for some authentic Hungarian paprika spice to bring home or cured local meats to sample for lunch.

Later, you can hop off at the Hungarian Parliament to see the Neo-Gothic architecture up close. If you like, head inside (own expense) to tour the Great Vaulted Hall and the Session Room, and catch a glimpse of the Holy Crown of Hungary.

Don’t forget to try the guided tours included with your ticket, too. Take in the city by foot on a walking tour, or discover the recreational oasis of Margaret Island on a 1-hour bike tour with a guide.

For a romantic view of the city from the water, upgrade your ticket to include a river cruise along the Danube, available during the day or evening.

Buses arrive every 15 minutes to hop on and hop off. The purple route last approximately one hour, while the more comprehensive red route is around a 2-hour loop.

Your 1st full day of your trip always book the Hop-on Hop-off tour as you get to know and see the City you are visiting. I think it helps you with knowing your way around and the highlights of the city you want to see. I do it every time i visit a city that offers this tour. Brilliant you get head phones rather than a guide with a microphone as you can hear everything about the city you want to know. I stay on the bus all the way around to where i first got on and then decide where i want to get off and start exploring. You get a map with all the stops numbered for you on the map so you can decide what number to get off at. Highly recommend!

Good. 4th city I have done something like this. In summer, there are 4 different routs that you can ride with this one ticket. It was cheap, and cheaper buying it on advance through Viator than it would have been to buy on the bus. In Budapest and in most big tourist cities there are 3 or 4 different companies doing some version of this, with a confusing range of price and route. This particular company, 'City Sightseeing' in Budapest had mostly open top buses, which can be too hot during the peak summer months...or potentially too wet. We paid the little extra for boat ride, which was plenty good, too.
