My highlight in Budapest, something different but totally worth doing. It says the duration but I thought that included the getting there and back but it doesnt. It was a full afternoon for us, make sure you have good shoes for grip but not shoes you care for too much as its a little slippery in places and muddy. I never noticed till after but I bruise like a peach and quite a few little bruises on my arms from climbing through, wear long sleeves but light thin stuff if you want a little extra protection, but it didn't bother me or ruin my experience in anyway. Loved it!
Superb Superb Superb!! Its an amazing and unique experience, one of its kind for sure. Thrilling and exhilarating !
This was such a fun trip. It was a great opportunity to see more of the Buda side and our guide was fantastic! I definitely recommend this trip!
Tip: make sure you have 4 bus tickets per person before the excursion and plan to do the Budapest baths the day after! It and #39;s a great combination!!!
Lazlo was hysterical and an experienced caver - this was by far our best experience in a two week European trip. Extremely challenging for the lay person and we both had such an incredible sense of personal accomplishment - sore for days. Do not skip this - AMAZING time and people up to 250 lbs. can
This is one of the most amazing tours I have done anywhere! Highly recommend. The guide was very knowledgeable and made sure we were all safe and knew exactly what to do. It is a highly physical activity so expect tight spaces and lots of crawling/squeezing/sliding/climbing. You will get dirty so plan on a change of clothes or going back to your hotel after to shower. I would say wear shorts, a tshirt and boots/tennis shoes as you do get coveralls and all the activity keeps you warm even though the caves themselves are cooler.
Two things to note: While this says 3.5 hrs for a tour by the time you get there and finish the whole thing it turns into more of a 5-6 hr activity. You need to plan your day around it. They also end the tour at the caves, leaving you to find your way back on your own so make sure you have a map and some bus tickets handy for after the tour. Great value for the money but they really should charge a bit more to get a bus or something to take you to and away from the site.
Super cool experience, exploring the caves. We had a very experience and engaging tour guide that made this very worthwhile. Do wear shoes with good grip and that you dont mind getting muddy!
Not for the closterphobic! That said, this was an experience of a lifetime. I was scared to death the entire time ya know, one way in one way out kinda thing but it was worth every minute. When we are talking tight spaces, I am talking about doing a superman pose through some passages. Our tour guide was excellent and even though I was more focused on how to get myself through a hole, the part of the tour that I was listening to was very interesting. This was one of my top experiences of my entire trip and I would definitely recommend it.
It and #39;s really exciting. And the guide intriduced clearly. You must experience this in Budapest.
This was the highlight of my trip. It was a little challenging in places, but with amazing guidance from our tour guide, we all managed to get through it. For those of you that are worried, there is always support if you need it and there are even times when you can go an easier way walking around, rather than crawling through. One of the best things I have done in my life!!!!
Such a fun adventure! Our guide made us feel capable and confident even when squeezing ourselves into what looked like impossible spaces, and kept us laughing the entire time. Cannot go to Budapest and miss out on this experience!
So much better than expected!! Tour guides amazing! Really fun and challenging experience.
the caving tour was a great experience - be prepared to crouch and crawl a lot, there are very few walking parts! our guide was very funny but also comforting and gave a great inside on the geological backstory of the cave system. all in all very highly recommended, but be aware of the slight physical challenge :
Thrilling experience!! One of the best things I've ever done. Highlyyyy recommended. Agnes is by far the best tour guide EVER, fun, enlightening, happy, full of energy with a beautiful singing voice you'll love this.
Recommendations to Viator: 1. Provide more info about the tour. Crawling with no lights in tiny wholes, getting dirty and sweaty etc was not in the description. 2. Please also advise your Customers to bring along second shoes, shirt and a small towel.
Brilliant caving experience. Highly recommended for your first caving tour.

FANTASTIC tour!!!! The meeting point is a bit ridiculous and almost led to me missing the tour since I don't have a phone to call with. BUT once we got going, it was so amazing. I'm claustrophobic but with a little bravery, I got it done and fell in love with the sport!
The tour was great, we was met at the main station. the tour lasted a long time, but it was an amazing experience. The guides were very informative and we learnt a lot about the geology of the caves. The guides shared their experiences with us which made it more personal. It was not too claustrophobic, so give it a go. Highly recommend and you are a
What a incredibly memorable day, with my 2 teen daughters. Cental meeting place near mall, transportation easy We had a really nice guide Lottie!! He took great care of his group of 9 cavers. When I had a few moments of claustrophobia - he talked me thru it. It was a WOW day- best yet in
The tour was so fun! It was a perfect sized group and it was a perfect mix of fun and challenging! My favorite part of my trip to Budapest!
Definitely not what I was expecting but it was amazing nonetheless. This is a lot of crawling and squeezing through tight spaces so if you are claustrophobic this may not be for you. However, I didn't think I could do it but we had a great guide and I surprised myself, I loved it. Very unique.
This was a wonderful experience led by a wonderful tour guide! Everyone should go caving!
I came into this with very few expectations and found myself delighted by the experience. It was a true adventure that is not easily found many places. You find yourself crawling between rocks so close you can almost feel them on your chest and back at the same time; it was completely exhilarating. Laci (Lati?) was a phenomenal tour guide/ He was incredibly experienced and he imbued the entire tour with his energy and spirit. In fact at one point someone's headlamp died and couldn't be fixed, so he traded with them, thus being left in total darkness even while he led the tour. I would recommend this trip to anyone who likes adventure, doesn't mind getting a little dirty or small spaces.
A note about the negative reviews: they are pretty off base. Needing to take a bus to caves really shouldn't be a deal breaker. I would however recommend not having time specific plans after the tour, that way if it runs a little long you'll have no issues. (It's not a movie after all, the duration will be variable. If you're like me, you'll find yourself wishing for another hour in the caves anyways.)
We have such an awesome time in this caving tour. If you are looking for a fun, adventurous activity to do while in Budapest, I would highly recommend this. Crawling and climbing through the caves of Budapest was definitely a hight of our trip. We were in a group of about 10 people, with very helpful and knowledgable guides. There are some tight squeezes along the way, so make sure you are up to being in small spaces.
