Best experience I had in Argentina and best steak I had in South America. Nicolás made sure everyone in the group had great time. He is funny, friendly and knows BA inside and out. The whole experience was not touristic at all. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a beautiful day out.
We highly recommend this tour if you want an escape from the city for a day. Pablo was a great guide giving us insight into contemporary Argentinian life and thinking, as well as the gaucho culture. The stop in San Antonio de Areco could have been a little longer to properly enjoy the gaucho museum and shop. The staff at the Estancia were great. Made us feel welcome especially since they seemed to enjoy themselves as well.
This was a wonderful trip out into the pampas from Buenos Aires. Pablo was an excellent guide, full of information, and host at the estancia. The welcome empanada and wine was very warm, the horses we rode very gentle and it was a great way to get a feel of the farming activities on the estancia. The grill lunch on the veranda was tasty amongst relaxed company. Dancing afterwards was a warm affair, but then the wonderful horses were brought on by their young 17 year old gaucho trainer. So beautiful. Such a lovely experience, thoroughly recommend. P and N
The dance and horse whispering show after the lunch was amazing !
This was a great day outside of Buenos Aires on the ranch where we could ride horses, do. a carriage ride, and join in to learn a couple of dances that the locals do. The food, entertainment, and tour service that picked us up at our hotels was fantastic and well organized. We also were taken to a small town, San Antonio, close to the ranch that was very old and quaint. Our tour guide, Paulo was excellent
That was one of the best tours I have ever taken. Pick up at hotel on time,..
friendly, jolly good tour guide Pablo with lots of interesting stories and funny episodes ,to let 2 hours of driving go by fast.
At the Estancia we were welcomed with the best empanadas , Malbec and friendly gauchos....
Then We did some horseback riding, which was great....my horse was very gentle and well behaving! I was a little concerned, because I don't really know how to ride a horse!
Then we had a fantastic Asado with tons of juicy beef, chicken, chorizo...,salad, ice cream and of course Malbec. After that there was dancing, singing and a demonstration of horsewhispering.....absolutely amazing! The Estancia also has rooms and cabanas for a longer stay and even a big pool. , Very well groomed premises.
Everybody very friendly and proud of their Estancia..... really a treat! Also had great fellow travelers, with interesting conversations at the table.
What a wonderful day getting out of the city and experiencing a different way of life at the estancia and learning about guachos. Pablo did a great job explaining about them. The food was fabulous and what fun it was horseback riding on the estancia. Great time was had by all.
We highly recommend this tour! Marcelo was an excellent tour guide and provided great information about the history and culture surrounding the gaucho experience. Despite some rainy weather the estancia was wonderful as we rode horses, sampled delicious meats and wine and enjoyed traditional music and dancing.
An excellent tour, highly recommended. The stay at the Estancia was a great experience, nice people, good food and wine, fun horseback riding. The bus ride was safe and comfortable, very good driver.
A great day, great guide, very worthwhile experience for learning about a way of life in Argentina. Wonderful meal. Promotes international relations. Highly recommend.
Really enjoyed this tour to the estancia in San Antonio. Our guide, Pablo, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, considerate and helpful. The lunch at the estancia was enormous and beautifully cooked and presented. It was a long drive into the country but well worth it and so nice to get out of the busy city. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Amazing tour, Pablo is a true entertainer, he was a wealth of knowledge on the way out tot the estancia. Once there the team on site took over, it was a great day, thoroughly recommend the trip.
Probably one of the best trips we have done. Picked up on time, knowledgeable guide who also knew when to keep quiet on the journey. Lovely farm with delightful people. Excellent food and wine. Horse riding was great. The walk around the small town of Areca was very interesting with no pressure to buy anything. A great day out to be highly recommended.
This tour was great and a lot of fun. Our group was small, only 6 people which was perfect. Our guide, Pedro, was knowledgeable and fun. The food and wine at the estancia were good and gaucho folklorico dancing was fun to see. Go for the horse ride even if you've never ridden before! Highly recommend!
This is an experience not to be missed! I thought it might be very touristy, but quite the opposite! Our guide, Pablo, had a good sense of humour and shared lots of interesting information about the history of Argentina and the gaucho traditions on the way. Punctual bus pickup from our hotel. It was great to get away from the city and see the countryside. At the ranch we were greeted by the owners and their friendly dogs and served with empanadas and cold drinks. Such beautiful surroundings! After this we could go for a 45 minute horse ride or ride in a horse and cart. No need to be an experienced rider- I'm not, and it was great fun! Lunch was served outside under the trees an abundance of traditional Argentinian BBQ meat, salads and cold drinks beer and wine included at no extra cost. All delicious. After lunch we were entertained by musicians and folk dancers. We were amazed by a young gaucho's demonstration of horse whispering. Arrived back at our hotel around 6pm. A highlight of our South American trip so far!
On our recent trip to Buenos Aires, we had a great visit to El Ombu San Antonio de Areco ranch. Our guide Pablo Samuel Meza was very knowledgeable and explained in details what to expect during the visit, everything proved to be exceptional. It was a beautiful sunny day, we rode horses, some took a carriage ride around the ranch, we participated in traditional dance, listened to beautiful music, enjoyed horse whispering drills, and had great food and drinks.
Absolutely a memorable day, thanks to Pablo and a very warm welcome by owner and all hosts at the El Ombu.
Our visit to El Ombu San Antonio de Areco in May was unbelievable! We enjoyed visit to the town museum, Cathedral, gaucho old bar before heading to the El Ombu. The hosts were very gracious, we enjoyed music, dance, exceptional steak, grilled meat, desserts, and drinks. The highlight of the day was horse riding and horse whispering gaucho skills.
Such a peaceful and glorious sunny day!
Our guide Pablo deserves 5 starts for organizing this day for our group.
We visited ranch at the San Antonio de Areco on our last trip to Buenos Aires in May. We had a great guide Pablo, who has such an easy way of communicating with group. Our entire day tour was very interesting we learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed meeting everybody at the ranch. We loved food and horses, gauchos were wonderful!
It was a great experience - we liked all about the trip - pick-up at the hotel on time, lovely tour guide, relaxed journey to San Antonio de Areco, nice walk through the city, some shopping, horse-riding at the Estancia El Ombru, great BBQ, folk dance, .... nothing was missing!
the best part of the trip was our guide, Pablo. He was well versed in life on an Estancia and took very good care of us from being to end.
This horseback ride was awesome and the food delicious. Very good and relaxing day.
It was the most relaxing part of our stay at Buenos aires. At the ranch many of our friends took a horse rede although me and my wife could not do so because of our age. Few persons like us took a ride in the horse cart around the farm. We were entertained to a special horse show where we saw the close relationship between horse and his trainer. A simple entertainment program was also organised. Food and drinks served throughout our stay there, was excellent and sumptuous and suited to the tastes of each person. It was a day well spent.
This was an amazing tour and can highly recommend it. Our guide Pablo was very knowledgeable and told us all about gauchos, their dress, traditions etc. Told us about the cuts of beef and what we would be offered from the barbecue, this was on the way to San Antonio.
We had a beautiful sunny day which added to our enjoyment. Everyone was so welcoming at the Estancia. On arrival we were shown the parilla, then had wine/beer and the best empanadas we have ever had. Then it was a horse ride or horse and carriage ride, do try the horse ride my husband and I had never been on a horse before and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lunch was superb and afterwards treated to dancing from the gauchos, followed by a demonstration of 'horse whispering' by one of the gauchos, absolutely unbelievable.
This tour was one of the highlights of our three and a half weeks in Chile/Argentina
Fantastic trip, well guided by Pablo, lovely Estancia, most welcoming people. Would recommend this trip to anyone.
We too a carriage ride, but you could have ridden a horse or a bike. Lunch was excellent, loads of meat, gauchos were a delight. The highlight was the horse whispering. Five star day out. Jim Dale and Josie Davies, from England.
This was an excellent all day tour which included a visit to the picturesque town of San Antonio de Areco. The ranch itself was in a lovely spot - very peaceful and we very much enjoyed the riding and carriage trip on offer. Lunch was excellent and very plentiful and was followed by some gaucho singing and dancing and a demonstration of the close relationship/bond between the gauchos and their horses.
This was a wonderful day away from the hustle and bustle of BA! It took us over 1.5 hrs to get there with a stop in the town San Antonio de Areco prior to going to the ranch. The ranch was beautiful and the surrounding scenery just so green and pretty. Besides being pleasant to see, the activities were enough to keep us enthused with horse riding, a traditional asado barbecue lunch, gaucho music and dancing gaucho style. Our guide and driver were terrific. Paul, our guide, was so funny and entertaining. He took really good care of us. Everyone in our tour group was friendly and we all clicked! A perfect day!
