What You Can Expect

Private Tigre Delta Overnight Rowing Tour

Enjoy a sleepover in Tigre

Make your way to the delta city of Tigre, which is a 40-minute train ride from Buenos Aires; a private guide will meet you at the Tigre train station. Continue to the waterfront for an introduction to rowing technique and safety. Depending on the number of travelers in your group, you may select a sculling or sweeping boat: sculling boats use two oars per person, while rowers in a sweeping boat use one oar.

After the lesson, set out into the Tigre Delta, where you can follow an itinerary that’s tailored to your interests. Take in the lush jungle at the edge of the water, traditional stilted houses, and the delta islands that dot the café con leche-colored current.

Come to shore at an island inn in time to catch a sunset over the delta, then sit down to a relaxed, Argentinian dinner with your host (vegetarian meals are available, please request in advance). In the morning, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, sunbathe by the shoreline, or practice your rowing skills before setting out on the return trip to Tigre.

Row back to shore with your guide, arriving at roughly 1pm. This tour concludes at the Tigre train station, where you can catch a train back to Buenos Aires.
