Overview

Discover the multicultural heritage of Andalusia on a walking tour of Jerez, complete with visits to the city’s two most important landmarks. Learn about the legacy of Moorish rule at the 11th-century Alcazar palace, and experience the splendor of 17th-century Spain inside the majestic Gothic cathedral. Along the way, see Jerez’s most charming streets and plazas and gain insight into local culture from an art historian guide.
  • Morning walking tour of Jerez with an art historian guide
  • Learn how the city became the sherry and motorbike capital of the world
  • Stroll through the winding streets and plazas of the old city center
  • Visit the Gothic-Baroque Cathedral of San Salvador
  • Explore Jerez's era of Moorish rule at the 11th-century Alcazar
  • All entrance fees included
Known as the home of flamenco music, fine Spanish sherry, the best Andalusian horse breeds and the motorcycle Grand Prix, Jerez de la Frontera — also known simply as Jerez — is rich with cultural treasures waiting to be explored.

Meet your local guide at Arenal Square, and set off on a leisurely walking tour of the historic city center. As you stroll, learn about the long and multilayered history of the city, the largest in the province of Cádiz, and hear how Jerez became the sherry and motorbike capital of the world.

No tour of the city would be complete without a visit to the striking Cathedral of San Salvador. Admire the ornate exterior, featuring Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical flourishes, and step inside to explore this lasting spiritual legacy of 17th-century Spain.

Step back even further in time to the 11th century with a tour of the royal Alcazar of Jerez, a rare surviving example of the Almohad style of architecture. Tour the ruins of the tower, palace, baths and mosque that once formed the hub of the city’s Moorish rulers.

Say farewell to you guide back at the departure point in Arenal Square.

Ronda Historical Walking Tour with Bullring Entrance | Mar 2020
Our tour guide, Velme, did an excellent job explaining the history and the old vs new part of of the city. A highlight of ours was entrance to the bullfight ring and the history of that. Other than a vague meeting location the tour was highly recommended

Jerez Historic Guided Tour with Horse Show and Winery Visit | Oct 2017

The horse show was terrific

One of my traveling companions had an accident that made it impossible for us to meet up with the historical tour. Viator was superb in making arrangements for us to complete the remaining events.

The horse show was high on my bucket list during our three-week adventure. I was not disappointed.

Islamic Seville Guided Tour | Jun 2017

Mercedes was our tour guide, and did a wonderful job taking us through the Alcazar palace, and showing us the Jewish quarter. She was very kind, and allowed us to stop for water and at a sweet shop while she guided us to our Flamenco Show destination-overall a wonderful experience, highly recommend!

Santa Cruz Quarter and Cathedral Guided Day Tour in Seville | Jun 2016

This tour was a little disappointing. Our guide was knowledgable but the content of the tour was lacking - there's really not that much to talk about in the Santa Cruz Quarter and the Cathedral itself could have been just as easily explored without a guide. Again, our guide was very good, but I think a guide is not necessary in order to appreciate these sites.
