Great views from the Skyrail and Railway. Best of all we learned how to throw a boom-a-rang!

Super valeu a pena.
We came to Cairns only for the Great barrier reef, but only because we had no idea there was so much to do in this area! We are very glad we went on this trip. We took an old train up the mountain and saw some really neat views. We did some shopping at the shops in Kuranda before the butterfly exhibit. Then we were taken to Rainforestation where they fed us a good for a buffet meal and gave us time to take a picture with a koala or a baby croc. We then went on a Duckboat tour. The tour was very neat and informative, although I wish it were a bit longer. We then went to watch an aboriginal dance show. I didn't like the show very much as we had seen a different and better one the night before from a different company. After the show, the dancers took us to learn about a didgeridoo, throwing spears, and we even got to through a boomerang! That was great! We then got to tour the animal enclosure where they had dingos, a giant saltwater croc named Jack, and a cassowary. They even had Kangaroo and wallabies hopping around free in the main area of the enclosure. One of the best parts of the whole trip though, was saved for the end. The bus dropped us off at the Skyrail station and we took the gondola over the rainforest and down the mountain. IT WAS AMAZING! I would definitely recommend this whole trip to anyone already going to Cairns!
This tour was really worth every penny spent and we did so many activities. The train ride and cable way return was both different experiences not to be missed. The butterfly park has a lot of show and so is the rainforest. The entire trip was very well organized.
A very full day with variety for everyone. Like culture? The aboriginal dances and demos were great. Animal lover? The little sanctuary had plenty of variety and holding a koala was awesome. Scenery buff? You can't beat the views from the train and the sky rail. Nature nut? The butterfly encounter was beautiful and the duck boat tour bouncy but interesting. Foodie? There is a very nice buffet with traditional and unique choices for everyone. Totally organized with a timed itinerary given to you to keep you on track. I would have loved another hour or two in Kuranda to visit the shops and the snake place but that would have made for an extremely long trip. I would definitely do this one again!
We loved the town of Kuranda, a nice surprise. Beautiful views from the Skyrain and from the train. We went on Gold Class and have a very nice and tasty snacks, and drinks.
Really is the best! We got to see so much and had fun right from the beginning!
The whole day itself was organised very well, I like that we were given a timetable and everything was very straightforward. All that we did, we enjoyed without being rushed or spending too much time in one place.
This was a great day trip. Our guide was informative and engaging. The train ride up was spectacular, we got to hold our first Koala, fed the kangaroos, rode in a duck, threw a boomerang, and got to watch various Aboriginal dances. We topped off the day by flying over the rainforest canopy on the Skyrail. It was a great first day trip and really set the tone for a great vacation.
This was our 2nd visit to Kuranda. This time we did the army duck which was great fun, although it rained heavily adding to the fun. We also went around the butterfly sanctuary. Unfortunately the weather was wet and misty on our trip down on the skyrail but still a great experience
We had a fantastic time. Would highly recommend this tour. We were looked after from the bus pick up in the morning to the drop off in the afternoon. Very impressed.
From start to finish this was a great day out.
It was very well organised, pick up from our rental apartment, and all of the activities included in the day were first class.
The lunchtime buffet was very slick with plenty of choice, all freshly cooked and tasty.
Would highly recommend this excursion.
Thanks for a fantastic day with some great memories.
a must when in Cairns. Scenic railway was great. staff was wonderful. Love the village. sky rail was fantastic and I'm afraid of height. My husband loved it, took thousands of photos.
The most amazing day, very organised - thank you to all. An absolute must do.
A full day of seeing Australian animals and culture. Without much time we were able to see so much unique to Australia. And, the ride back in the gondola was wonderful .
The Railway and Skyrail were the major highlights of this trip the scenery was spectacular! We also enjoyed the Butterfly Sanctuary. Overall it was a very enjoyable day and our tour guide/bus driver was very competent and friendly.
This is one of the best tours we did in Queensland. Not a minute of it was boring. Loved the duck tour and seeing all the animals, throwing the boomerang, the railway journey itself - Too good.
The only thing we wished was better was the Pamagirri Aboriginal performance. The performers were taking it too casually and were half-hearted in their performance, spending most of their time in teasing each other on stage and laughing over it. A little more seriousness was expected.
Other than that, everything was just perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better day!
We were shuttled around a bit like livestock but the experience was very interesting. The history of the region as well as the beauty is well highlighted. I would recommend the tour if you find yourself in or near Cains.
Weather could have been better but this was a great day with plenty to see and do. Enough on your own time to poke about a bit. Butterflies were interesting. Added on koala cuddle was my wife's favorite. Train ride down is long but worthwhile as the narrated history was excellent. Cultural shows and wildlife exhibits were also well done. This tour helps get a lot seen in one day if you are trying to pack as much as you can over a few days.
We usually love rail trips but not this one, tour was clearly over booked train was packed, bench seats for 4 on right side of train if your not in window seat or 2nd seat in, you see nothing, you can hardly lean over 3 other people for a look and if you are in the front bench seat against the wood panelling you see even less, total expensive dissapointment. Kuranda is nice tourist spot with lots of shops and stalls selling all sorts of stuff. Butterfly house was quite impressive. We did not get much time to look at Kuranda, all was a rush had to get on bus to rainforestation. Here was a quick look at some animals ok, on to indigenous display which was very good then come on hurry up this way to army ducks. Bit of a joke here they were trying to push that many people through, the poor driver giving the usual informative talk about the forest was a bit pointless really ,we had these ducks including ours all nearly touching so the chinese translation on board some vehicles was drowning everything out. Absolute circus, poorly run tour. Finally Skyrail it was awesome the view, everything about it, Forget the train do skyrail up and back or hire a car to get to Kuranda and do it on your own, we should have, just thought tour would be simple.
This isn't a tour. This is a few pre-bought tickets and a bus between two locations. You are on your own for the day to make your own way through the train, town and nature reserve. That being said, the gondola down the mountain was definitely a highlight for the day.
The train ride was too long with very few photo opportunities. The aboriginal dance could have been shorter with more time to spend in the rain forest. There was no escape from the heat and humidity in the indoor spaces.
