Why Travelers Choose This Tour

This tour includes options for both first-time and certified divers at two Great Barrier Reef dive sites.
After boarding your deluxe boat, which seats a max of 100 people, including your experienced guides, your Great Barrier Reef day trip starts with the boat ride from Cairns out to the reef—one of the fastest rides from Cairns, with just more than an hour of cruising time.

Depending on the weather and water conditions on the day of your tour, your guides will head to one of 12 exclusive moorings at six reef locations, providing you with the best possible on-the-water experience that day. Most likely, you’ll visit one of the Outer Great Barrier Reef spots like Saxon Reef or Norman Reef in the morning, and then continue to North Hastings Reef in the afternoon.

Upon arrival at your first location, hop in the water with your provided snorkeling equipment for a look at multicolored fish, coral and other marine life. Instruction is provided for beginners, and your knowledgeable crew members are on hand to encourage and help you, if needed. Then snorkel again at your second location. If you’d rather not get wet, you can still check out this World Heritage–listed underwater world on a tour by semi-submersible vessel (own expense; payable on the day of your tour).

During your time on the barrier reef you can refuel with an onboard buffet lunch of Australian barbecue items such as fresh fish, sausages and steak, plus a selection of pastas, salads and prawns. On the return trip to Cairns, snack on a platter of cheese and fruit while members of your talented crew provide live music and entertainment to celebrate the end of your day on the sea.

AMAZING DAY

We had an AMAZING time for our experience! Everything we possibly would need for the day was supplied, lunch was fantastic (and filling!) and the reefs we were taken to were incredible! The two of us only did snorkeling, but we appreciated that we could do the add-on experiences day of if we decided to change our mind. The staff was really wonderful and friendly. It was a once in a lifetime day. Be sure to wear sunblock or you will get FRIED. There were wetsuits offered that we did not take advantage of, but looking back I HIGHLY recommend using one, of so.

Very nice tour. Large number of staff members, all very helpful. Very organized from the start. Helicopter tour was short and difficult to hear the commentary from the pilot.

So well organised

The tour was so well organised, including the pick-up and drop-off for us from / to the Northern Beaches. The crew were very friendly and helpful. There were loads of safety instructions, and for anybody who wasn’t a confident swimmer, there were flotation devices, crew in the water to help, and floating rest stations at the reefs. The views in the water were amazing. All in all, it was a great tour and really well run.

This was one of the highlights of our 3 week trip!! The views were fantastic!!! Corals were amazing! Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We paid a bit extra to have 30 minute guided snorkel tour with the marine biologist! Definitely worth the extra money! We saw a sea turtle, stingray, and tons of beautiful fish. Please add to your description that underwater cameras are available for rental. Didn’t know until after. However the tour provided a staff member to take pics of the guests underwater so I did get some great pictures from her. An experience of a lifetime!!! Well done!

This tour was nothing short of amazing! The crew on board all had such great customer service and their tour was extremely well organized. From the moment you step on the boat, the crew members were welcoming you and assisting you with any questions you might have. There are options to do small group and personal snorkel and dives with very well trained and informative staff. The food was great for the lunch as well. I highly recommend this tour with Deep Dive!

Good tour with minor negatives

We had a great time overall! The staff was friendly, and the boat was very nice. The entire process was organized which allowed us to have ample amount of time at each snorkeling/diving locations. It was a great tour for a single day trip to the great barrier reef. The only negatives I had were the food was just okay. This is likely a personal opinion, and I am sure others enjoyed it. To us everything was rather bland. Additionally, we have done a few tours/excursion over the course of our holiday and we felt this one was highly focused on up-selling. They discussed throughout the tour all these extra things you could do, but obviously it costs money. I felt like it took away from the experience. I still recommend this tour as we had a great time and the staff was amazing!!
