Fantastic experience. The island was great - staff were very nice.
The crew was very friendly and good spirited. Boarding and deboarding were easy and quick. The catamaran featured indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating had tables, outdoor seating was benches. The boat had cold drinking water free of charge so we could fill up our bottles they also provided cups. Quite sizeable lockers were available on board for only AUS 5. We snorkeled and went on the glass bottom boat, and both were absolutely incredible choices. It was only AUS 16 per person to add on the glass bottom boat. We also rented the Lycra suits just AUS 8. We saw 3 jellyfish two were not box jellies, the other one I'm not sure aboutwithin the first 5 minutes in the water - but there weren't any a little further out where you would actually see the reef and snorkel. I would recommend getting the suit, as the peace of mind it provided made our trip much more enjoyable. It also protected our skin from UV rays, so we didn't put on any sunscreen except our faces :.
I would recommend you go left, when you get off the dock. I read some other reviews saying it's better to go right, but we didn't see much of anything when we went right. When we went left we saw ENORMOUS and beautiful fish. When we were walking back to the dock from the beach, we also saw a guitarfish in the water! It was incredible! Though I do wish I was in the water to see it :
Ensure your hat is secured. We've seen 3 holiday makers had their hat blown off and flew into the sea.
Wear sunblock and of course bring your swim wear.
Have done many trips with Viator in Europe and UK in the last few years. This was excellent just like the others.
Semi-Submarine and Glass Bottom let you see mostly the same thing. No need to do both.
We really enjoyed this day trip. The ferry ride to and from the island was quite smooth. We very much enjoyed the glass bottom boat trip even though the sea was not as clear as it could have been.
The ride back on the ferry had a memorable moment when a whale was spotted.
Nothing to complain.Everything is perfect.Worth every penny spent
The best day out you and #39;ll have in cairns, green island is beautiful
Another fun Viator day trip. We did the semisubmersible and glass bottomed boat excursions right after arriving which left the rest of the day for lunch and exploring the island. Staff and guides all friendly and well informed. Enjoyed by all.

Everything was absolutely amazing. Thanks to all the staff

Semi sub and glass bottom boat were great. Also boat to island was good. Amazing fish and coral. Lots of good pictures.
This tour was amazing. I would love to come back, the staff was very friendly and the things to do in here were very exciting, especially the sea walk.
Great day weather wasn't too good but still had a good time. Staff and crew very helpful plenty of food at buffet lunch would do it again.
This was one of my favorite days on the reef! It was here that we actually saw sea turtles and many types of fish. While on this tour, we did the glass bottom boat and the semi submersible, and I think that you could do one or the other seeing as they both showed and seemed to be very similar. If going to Green Island, be sure to swim to the point of the jetty because that is where we saw all of the marine life and turtles. Also, it will appear for a while that there is nothing in the water but fish, so just make sure you swim a ways out.
Nice ride, expect to spend 2.5-3 hours in transit round trip. You'll have to plan carefully to take the best advantage of the approximately 5 hours you'll have on the island.
There's a national park on the island that should be taken in but that can be difficult, depending on the activities you've scheduled through the tour provider.
Here's the deal: Lunch is served from 11:15 AM to 1:15 PM and the glass bottom boat and semisubmersible rides are about 30 minutes each. Those activities can be scheduled in ways that pretty much preclude taking in the park walk, which was a problem for me.
First, go snorkeling if you want to do that.
Second, take a nice walk in the national park.
Third, eat lunch at your leisure at the café on the island. The boat's lunch was no gourmet feast and I found the limited serving time to be incompatible with my preferred island activities.
If you want to tour the island zoo, do that fourth but be aware that it's just a few large crocs and native craft exhibits.
Lastly, schedule one of the last semisubmersible or glass bottom boat rides so you can maximize your island time. FYI: The semisubmersible ride had better views than the glass bottom boat.
It was a vey enjoyable trip. I liked the submarine trip the most.
We upgraded to the sub and glass bottomed boat tour. Worth every penny.
This trip was exceptional. I recommend skipping the buffet lunch on the boat and saving money for renting beach chairs and umbrella. The island has a few eateries you can grab food from without having to battle long queues on the boat. And I know 30 AU seems steep for two deck chairs and a umbrella, but it's WELL worth it whilst out on the reef. We loved snorkeling here... we spotted three turtles, a sting ray, tons of fish and even saw a bit of a black-tipped coral reef shark from the glass bottom boat tour. Note - the boat tour is NOT in the same area as the swimmers. I felt perfectly safe snorkeling here. We enjoyed this tour so much, we wished we had more time here.
Great full day tour, loved it especially the snorkelling. It was good to have a choice of adding more options on the day like the helicopter or scuba diving. Very worth while and affordable with a great lunch included the only slow bit was the ride back.
