A Beautiful Day in the Rainforest

This trip was simply AMAZING! We read the great reviews and were excited about the trip, so we went into it with high expectations. The train ride, sights and oral history track that played as we went up into the mountains was all fantastic! We thought the scenery was better than advertised and the train was very comfortable. I can totally understand why this attraction was as highly rated as it was on TripAdvisor! The town of Kuranda was very quaint and had some cute shops. We went to the Reforestation excursion and that was absolutely awesome, too! We took the Skyrail down the mountain and it is a “must” as well! This is a full day trip for us, but it was all so organized and well paced out that none of it seemed to drag and make the day seem long. I can’t recommend this day excursion high enough if you are in the Cairns area!

Kuranda Rail

No basic stuff like fans in the train. We suffered badly on a very hot day last week. After doing Skyrail on going up to Kuranda the views on way back on train were tame to be honest!!! Skyrail was just fantastic though. Kuranda villeage was again a bore.

An easy fun day

We loved the tour. We took the train up, walked through the zoo-our guide was very knowledgeable! We ate a nice lunch, went on the army duck tour, and watched the Aborigines performances. The kids loved watching the boomerang and the didgeridoo presentation. We are coming back in a couple of days to do Bird Word, the butterfly sanctuary, and the other wildlife park. We took the sky cam down, which the kids also loved.

From start to finish a lovely day, so scenic and a brilliant way to see the rain forest. Absolutely loved it. Kuranda village has some lovely shopping and the cuddle the Koala is an added bonus. Thank you will be back x

This is not a guided tour.

While the trip itself was fabulous, the value did not meet Viators high standards in my opinion. Hotel pickup was indeed utilized and it was prompt and efficient. We were a group of 4 who paid in excess of $700 for the excursion. Doing it in our own would have saved us at least $300. Cable car and train as well as the visit to Karanda are not to be missed. This was an excursion that did not provide guides.

December 2019 trip

I dont like heights, but still found the cable car nice. If that's something that worries you, it doesnt go extremely high up, and you get breaks in between to walk forest boardwalks. The train is also very good. You get alot of chances to take photos, although the train only stopped once. There are plenty of clearings on the way down to see the ocean and towns below.

Wonderful experience taking the train up to Kuranda and the Sky Train (gondola) Back. Once in Krunda you can take in the wildlife experience or visit shops. Your retrun trip in the gondola is great the vista's are wonderful and stops worth while.

Very organized tour, but absolutely no free time in Kuranda

This tour was well-organized and ran very smoothly. The Railway trip was comfortable and beautiful. The Rainforestation Nature Park was quick but fun - we were able to feed and pet wallabies and kangaroos, and the crocodile boat tour got us up very close to the feeding crocs. The Skyrail was unbelievable - such a beautiful view, and a nice, long ride. However, there was absolutely NO free time in Kuranda. We ended up having to go back separately on a different day just to see the town.

we went up to Kuranda on the train, it was fun easy and we took lots of pictures along the way. spend time in town shopping and eating then rode the Sky Rail back down. The Sky Rail was incredible. We were high above the trees you can see for miles. Get out on the first stop and see the gorge from that side it breathe taking.
