Start the trip with pickup at your Sharm el Sheikh hotel at around midnight: a driver will transfer you to the nearby bus terminal, supply your bus tickets for Cairo, and stay with you until the bus departs.
An Egyptologist guide will be waiting to greet you upon arrival in Cairo between 6am and 8am, where you’ll board an air-conditioned, Wi-Fi equipped minivan for the Egyptian Antiquities Museum. Visit the world’s largest collection of pharaonic antiquities with your guide, exploring exhibits that range from mummified animals to the treasures of King Tutankhamun.
Cross the Nile River to the Giza Plateau, where you’ll pause for a lunch of Egyptian cuisine with a view of the sphinx and pyramids (you can choose between spicy kofta meatballs and grilled chicken kebabs). After lunch, visit Giza Pyramids, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes the sole intact “Wonder of the Ancient World.”
Take in the Great Pyramid of Khufu, along with the pyramids built by Khafre and Menkaure. If you’d like to see the pyramid interiors, your guide can arrange the visit at an extra charge. Finally, catch the view of the pyramids from the foot of the Great Sphinx, the largest monumental statue on earth.
The afternoon concludes with return transfer to the bus terminal, where your guide will accompany you until the bus for Sharm el Sheikh departs at 4pm or 5pm. Upon arrival at Sharm el Sheikh between 10pm and midnight, a driver will meet you for the return trip to your hotel.
