What You Can Expect

Harvard Campus Walking Tour and Admission to Natural History Museum

Harvard University

Harvard University doesn’t really need any introduction. The private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, MA, was established in 1636 and since that time, its history, influence and wealth have made it one of the most prestigious universities in the world. It’s listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and it’s a U.S. National Historic Landmark District.

On this exclusive Harvard campus tour, meet the guide and students who will provide an inside look at college life in Cambridge and start this 1-hour walking tour of the university.

Begin at Harvard Yard, an area of just over 22 acres that’s enclosed by fences with 27 gates. Not only is it the oldest part of the campus, it’s also the center of its history and the crossroads of its modern-day campus with dorms, libraries and classrooms. Check out Old Yard with Harvard’s oldest building, Massachusetts Hall. Then head to Harvard Square near the center of Cambridge, with everything from bookstores, coffee houses, fine dining and pizza to old theaters, public art, street performers and world-class music.

Finally, if you'd like, choose to explore the Harvard Museum of Natural History, the public face of three research museums: the Museum of Comparative Zoology, the Harvard University Herbaria, and the Mineralogical & Geological Museum.

We had an excellent time on this tour. Our guide was Fillip apologies if I spelt that incorrectly, but he did say Phillip with an 'F', a Harvard student who originated from Macedonia. We learned a great deal about the history and traditions of Harvard and we were fortunate to have a sunny not rainy November day all the while. We also greatly enjoyed the Museum of Natural history that was included. It was MUCH larger on the inside than it first appeared and we spent hours perusing all the exhibits.

Nice and easy... the time flew by and we were kept thoroughly entertained by our enthusiastic student guide - Cormac... Full of interesting tidbits, a little history and loads of 'Hahvahd' culture. Awesome way to see the Harvard campus.

Great job Cormac!

Melissa was truly OUTSTANDING! I know she tried to stay on script, but our questions kept pulling her away. She told great stories and spent some time after the tour to give us more details and suggested a great lunch place! Definitely a STRONGLY RECOMMEND from the Country of Texas! Thanks Melissa!
