Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Chichen Itza is a must-see, and the super-informative guides on this tour will help you understand why. You also get free time to explore these well-preserved Mayan ruins on your own.
From your hotel in Cancun, you’re picked up in the morning for the drive to Chichen Itza, considered the most important archaeological zone in the Yucatán. En route to the ancient Maya capital, stop to explore the natural wonders of a nearby cenote — either Ik Kil or Hubiku — depending on which area is less populated on the day of your tour.

You’ll have almost one hour to play in the deep, aquamarine waters of an underground swimming hole formed from a collapsed limestone cavern, before you continue on to Chichen Itza.

Around midday, start your 1.5-hour tour of significant locations at the World Heritage site, including the ball court, el Castillo (the Castle), the Pyramid of Kukulkan and Temple of the Warriors. You’ll learn from your certified guide why the extraordinary architectural beauty and geographical location have led to Chichen Itza's designation as one of the New Wonders of the World.

After some time to enjoy the ruins on your own, head to a local restaurant for a buffet lunch of fresh salads, soups, rice, meat, chicken, fish, vegetables and other regional fare (drinks at own expense). Your Chichen Itza full-day tour ends with return transport to your Cancun hotel.

What an AMAZING Experience, this was partly because of our tour guide Raphael. He made the trip and long van ride fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything while bringing you into the conversation effortlessly. Although more time would have been nice to explore the ruins, you can still see it all if you hurry! The staff at EKNX surpassed my expectations. The driver was very professional, always on time and you will always feel safe with him. I believe his name was Javier. This trip is highly recommended!

Excellent experience. The guide was well informed, professional, and simpatico. The driver was also excellent. This was a nice way of getting a little immersed in both the Mayan and Mexican cultures. Without our guide, we would not have learned to significance of Mayan architecture, culture, religion, and advanced physics. I highly recommend this tour.

The day was very long. I vowed never to do a tour like this was 16 hours packed into a bus with no leg room for anyone. The tour guide had good English and Spanish and showed all points of interest. very enjoyable but way too long.

Simply wonderful

It sounds like a good idea, but isn't. Let's be honest, the real reason you visit Chichen Itza is to see the big pyramid, El Castillo. However, our guide Luis proceeded to walk us around the entire grounds of Chichen Itza for two hours with no shade in 100 humidity. Why? I don't understand why it was necessary to take us to every single minute location within the area and speak for 20 minutes about something that us tourists couldn't care less about. We asked to stop and take a break, but we were told that we couldn't and so we had to skip out on a part of the tour because our guides didn't care if we were tired or about to pass out from heatstroke. Take another tour.
