This tour was really good!
Its a really long day but defo worth it. Our tour guide Louis was amazing, he gave us so much info but also made us think.
Swimming in the Cenote was an amazing experience!
I highly recommend this tour for anyone traveling to cancun and wants to get an authentic experience. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. My sister and I booked this tour the day before in hopes to surprise my mom for her birthday. We were met by Carlos at 7AM who was on time, professional, and the best tour guide I have ever had. We picked up other people from different hotels and were on our way to Chichen Itza. Carlos was full of energy and charisma from the very beginning and was so happy to share the history of chichen itza with us. While on the tour, I was pleasantly surprised to find out were were going to be doing more than what the description said. We would go to a souvenir shop, Chichen Itza, Ik Kil, THEN a colonial mexican town. We started at the souvenir shop were my sister, my mom, and I bought calendars and necklaces with mayan letters and numbers. We went on to Chichen Itza and were provided with umbrellas which was wonderful because it was so hot. Carlos gave us so much history and was very knowledgable about recent and past discoveries made at one of the 7th wonders of the world. We have a great 2 hours there which was more than enough because of the hot weather. We proceeded to Ik Kil, where we had a buffet lunch which was so delicious and authentic and swam in Ik Kil for over an hour.It was so beautiful and fun. We got back on the tour bus and went to the colonial town which was a great way to end the day because we got a true feel of mexico's architecture, people, and culture. We had coffee and ice cream and sat around a fountain before it rained and had to get back on the bus. A great way to end the day. Carlos worked so hard all day and was so happy throughout and I would recommend him to anyone. Juan the bus driver was great and very sweet as well. If you're looking to get away from the hotels of Cancun and get the most out of your vacation/stay in Mexico, this tour is AMAZING! Definitely go on it!
This tour was such good value and the staff involved were highly educated in the history of the Mayans and happy answered all of our questions. Alex was our tour guide and he was very accomodating to what we wanted to do and made sure we were as comfortable as possible in the intense Mexican heat. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit the Mayan temples and pyramids. Also, jumping into the sinkhole is a must!
It was a very smooth booking process and everything else that came with it. It was a great experience and I am beyond happy that I planned my trip through Viator.
Our tour guide, Carlos, was funny and very knowledgeable about the Mayan ruins and its people. I'm glad we had this opportunity to view Chichen Itza and would recommend it to anyone!
fatastic tour! professional tour guide, well described mayan histroy!!!! buffet was good! highly recommend!
Loved the trip to Chichen Itza, long day but very informative and great for history buffs. Our tour guide Ricardo was very knowledgeable and gave us a very good tour of the site, not just the history, but the how and why the structures were built the way they were. The trip to the cenote was very cool as well, could have spent a couple more hours there but unfortunately only so many hours in the day. Lunch was tasty similar to most of the all-inclusive buffets at the resorts, and it was cool to see the present-day Mayan village and the colonial town as well.
Overall the tour was very good. The Guide Carlos was excellent .Just the first stop at the shop was more like a trap but may be some people like it.Would recommend .
I booked this tour online before going to Cancun. It was a long day but totally worth the trip. We were picked up on time and were driven to a meeting place where we boarded a comfortable, AC bus, complete with clean restroom in the back. Our tour guide,Carlos Moo pronounced Mo was very professional, informative and entertaining. He is of Mayan heritage and shared a wealth of information with us.He even passed out pictures, various artifacts and maps. We learned some Mayan phrases and our kids 9 and 12 were fascinated and engaged the whole time. We were taken to a local artisan village for some shopping. Here we found beautiful textile, jewelry, pottery, ceramics,T shirts, food and drinks. A Mayan youth student who temporarily joined us in the bus, sold bottles of native anise alcoholic drink can't remember name with our pictures on the label taken earlier outside of the bus in the artisan shop. We also had a chance to sample the drink. We continued to Chichen Itza and marveled at this amazing site. Carlos told us to expect a lot of vendors as we initially got to the site. He wasn't joking. Bring small bills, some vendors don't have change. As we continued on, Carlos eagerly told us the historical significance and meaning of the structures. He tried to find shaded areas where he told us more interesting facts about the Mayan culture and answered all our questions. We took more pictures after about 90 mins with Carlos. We had a buffet lunch then swam in the cenote. We showered before entering to prevent harsh chemicals contaminating the cenote. Life vests are available. The bus tour took us to Valladolid, a traditional town. Here we walked around the plaza, took more pictures and had ice cream. We were later dropped off at our hotel. I recommend this tour!. Chichen Itza is an amazing place. The cost of the tour included the entrance fees and lunch as well. Just bring money for shopping and much appreciated tips. You won't be disappointed.
This was a great day where you learn so much about the Mayan culture both past and present. Ricardo and his team were fantastic and so enthusiastic!
It was a long day! So be prepared but you see so much and experience so much you can and #39;t complain! A great day out. Thank you
I love this trip to Cancun with Carlos and Juan the tours guide.
Tour was very informative without being boring. Tour guide was really friendly, knowledgable, and funny. Ample time to explore Chichen Itza on your own after a brief history lesson with the tour guide. Bus ride was smooth and included a stop to a local artisan shop for a chance to buy handmade souvenirs. Lunch buffet was a little disappointing. The cenote was absolutely beautiful and one of the coolest things I've ever experienced! Would definitely recommend!
Excellent and convenient! From pick up to drop off.
I was not sure if I should but the tours before arriving but it was worth it. Tors there are more expensive and not so professional.
very informative the guide was very knowledgeable of the area and had a blast on the drive there and the drive back.
Great tour! Luiz is an excellent guide. Very interesting and educative. Worth the price!
Our guide Carlos was VERY knowledgeable and proud of his Mayan heritage. Bus picked us up at 8:00 hrs and didn't get back until 20:30hrs. Great trip only wish I had known it would last that long. Luckily we brought extra water and snacks.
I highly recommend this trip. We had a group of 10 and our guide was great. He took great pride in the culture and provided insight to the Mayan culture. This is a must see man made wonder!!! Now that is a historic site you cannot climb or get too close which is expected to keep them around for another 100 years and more.
i highly recommended. Ricardo was our tour guide and he was funny, helpful and knowledgeable.
Note: if you are taking this tour, be aware that you will be spending all day on this tour.
We stared at 8am and back to the hotel around 10pm.
This is really nice tour to Chichen itaza, it's worth the trip.
My wife and I highly recommend this tour! Our tour guide, Ricardo, was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. Of course, just seeing and experiencing the auditory wonders of the large temple and ball court of Chichen Itza itself are huge reasons to tour this historic site, but we also recommend this visit for the things we didn't anticipate. For example, we visited a Mayan community on the way where we tried a traditional liquor and had personalized birth certificates created for us using Mayan hieroglyphs on paper made from tree bark. We also had a great time diving the cenote and swimming to cool down. While the water isn't as cristal clear as Centoe de Dos Ojos, it's since it's an open-air cenote there are beautiful trees and plants cascading down the walls. While the lunch that was included wasn't our favorite--it wasn't very authentic Mexican food pasta, potato salad, mild fajitas, etc.-- it was a buffet that included several options. Overall, we highly recommend this tour!
