Book and travel between October 30 to November 2, 2016 and get FREE entrance to the "Festival of Light and Dead Traditions" to celebrate the Day of the Dead at Xcaret!
Nature, history and fun in the sun: There is something for everyone at Xcaret, an eco-themed park offering activities in a natural setting by the Caribbean Sea. It’s a great place to learn about the Mayans, who once practiced sacred rites on these very grounds.
There is soooo much to do at Xcaret and you cannot cover it in one day especially if you are traveling with kids.
Do the underground river FIRST. I did not use the flippers. I kept my swim shoes on. The water is FREEZING cold, but you QUICKLY adjust. Don't use the lockers---put all your clothes in the waterproof bag they give you and they bring the bag to the other side of the river for you to retrieve.
SO MANY choices of food, but be careful, not all restaurants are included in your price. Also, there aren't a lot of activities included in the overall price, but don't worry, you won't get to do half of them anyway. For instance, riding the dolphins isn't included. After the lazy river, we ate and laid in the hammocks and took a nap to prep for the show. Then, we went to the beach area and played.
The nightly show was amazing, but long. Shows the history of Mexico very well. So many people talked about how great the show was and I expected something different. I guess I expected a Cirque type of show. Arrive at least 30-45 minutes early to the theater for good seats.
Overall, VERY glad we went. Just wished I purchased the tickets from my hotel because the deal was a whole lot better.
The family had a great time, especially with the underground river and the snorkeling. The Xcaret Mexico Espectacular show was AMAZING and very so neat in how they present the history and culture of Mexico! I just wish we had more time to explore everything the park had to offer.
The day spend in Xcaret was wonderful, especially for my grandson age 5. We truly enjoyed every aspect of the park. The food at the Mexican restaurant was out of this world. A day of fun!!!
The Place is beautiful. Swimming in the underground rivers,or walking around the park, you will be amazed at what's around the corner Birds, Butterflies, Turtles,The sea,the paths and the incredible night show.
Xcaret was the best part of our cancun trip! IT's just so fun and amazing to experience both water activities and cultural exploration in one place. HIGHLY recommended
SO much to do and explore! We saw so many animals and learned a lot about the Mayan and Mexican Culture. We also enjoyed the underground river swim!
This was an excellent day out and there was far too much to see in one day. It was also blessed with cool spots and shade which was very welcome. The jungle boat ride and swim through the underground river were amazing. The Sea Trek was less good as the reef was dead - I'd suggest snorkeling might be the better experience. Do NOT miss the spectacular show in the evening - truly phenomenal. The trip could have been improved if they'd used the coach ride to give you an idea of the 'extras' available swimming with dolphins etc and their prices as that delayed at the start and we found out that one thing was sold out - although we then spoke to our guide and he fixed for us to do it.
