What You Can Expect

Cannes Shore Excursion: Small-Group Half-Day Trip to Nice

Explore the town of Nice on your half-day trip from Cannes

Discover why Nice is a favorite French Riviera destination on a delightful half-day tour from Cannes. After your ship docks at the port, meet your guide at the cruise terminal and climb aboard a luxury minivan for a scenic drive along the coastal Middle Corniche road. Along the way, soak up breathtaking views of rolling hills and the Mediterranean while your guide shares stories from the area’s rich history.

Begin your city tour with a stroll along the iconic, palm-lined Promenade des Anglais that hugs the coast, and then head up to Castle Hill for sweeping views of Nice’s red rooftops, beaches and Belle Epoque buildings.

Get a sense of Nice’s vibrant artistic scene as you cruise along the Promenade des Arts past the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arta and the Acropolis Center. You’ll also visit Queen Victoria’s former winter retreat in the historic district of Cimiez, where the Nice Jazz Festival is held every summer.

Continue on to Old Town (Vielle Ville) to wander the vibrant historic streets and the impressive, 18th-century Place Garibaldi. Pick up a specialty snack or a unique souvenir to take home at the Cours Saleya markets, and tantalize your senses among the lovely local flower stalls (morning tour only).

Relax on the gorgeous drive back to Cannes, where your 4-hour tour ends with drop-off back at the cruise terminal.

Cecile was the best! She is professional, knowledgeable, skilled amazing driver, interesting, vibrant, and she loves the area and is steeped in its culture. Cecile is the key. I don't know what this tour would be like with another guide, but with Cecile it was top notch.

Expected more given the price. Pick-up at the cruise dock was confused and the contracted company phone number went directly to voicemail. Van was too small to accommodate 9 adults comfortably for a 4 hour tour. More commentary could have been provided throughout the tour. Good opportunities for photos, but little free time.
