Our Guide Frank did an outstanding job showing breathtaking scenic views on the ocean, mountains, Cape Breton National park and numerous fishing villages along with relevant history of the island. He went out of his way to show interesting spots even if they fall slightly outside Cabot trail. Highly recommend the tour and Frank.
Amazing and beautiful!
Jody_N, Jul 2021
Really beautiful and memorable tour. Harry was an awesome tour guide - providing interesting and lively commentary throughout the tour. This tour is a great way to see the best of Cape Breton Island - just sit back and relax and enjoy the beauty. I would definitely rate this a five star tour for the breathtaking views and beauty that is Cape Breton Island and for the wonderful service that Misty and Harry provided. Do not hesitate to book this tour!

Great wonders of Cape Breton

Mira our tour guide was fantastic in explains and showing us the Cabot trail.. one of our favourite points was the white point..
Surely beautiful trail.
Aditya_N, Jul 2022
The tour was good and driver was also well informed about the trail and gave us good information. One thing I felt should have been done from start is that there are some parts of the trail are much more beautiful eg: skyline hike. We were shown this hike from distance and missed one of the opportunity to experience it. Driver should have told us about the scenic parts of the trail and allowed the passengers to make a decision and trade-off other spots. As last leg of the trip we were going on the spots which were not that great (in my opinion) and we could have skipped.

Hi Aditya, Thank you for leaving your review! We are happy to know that your guide provided a good, informative tour. The Skyline trail is the most popular hike in the park with good reason! There are a number of reasons why we do not do that hike in our Shared Cabot Trail Discovery Tour, mainly time (it takes 2 to 3 hours to complete). We do exactly what you suggest and skip other stops to make the hike work in our Private Cabot Trail Discovery Tour. We do hope that you get to experience the Skyline Trail hike on a return visit and that you enjoyed your time in Cape Breton.
Wonderful day touring the Cabot Trail!

Our tour guide Mauri was wonderful- very knowledgeable and stopped at many place for beautiful views and photos!
A long and thorough tour with loads of info!
MARY_G, Jul 2022
It was an excellent tour, lots of info from the tour guide (Maury???). She was sweet, knowledgeable, a safe driver and very pleasant. However - the tour was 10 hours, and we (seniors) were exhausted just from the length of time. I would have preferred a maximum of 8 hours-but then I guess we would have missed a couple things. We did not find the van met our expectations for comfort-there were 3 friends and a couple - the very back seat had small windows, and as a bench seat-it was not very comfortable. Luckily the driver suggested switching seats regularly, which we all did and that worked well. I can't imagine putting 3 people in the back seat, and maybe they don't. All in all - a wonderful, pleasant tour guide who gave us all sorts of historical info-which we loved. She stopped regularly to stretch and have bathroom breaks. The restaurant we stopped at was mediocre, but satisfactory. So really - just too long for us, but we are glad we did it nonetheless!

Thank you for your review Mary! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your day with our guide, Mairi, and that you felt it was informative. We generally do use a larger van for tours when we have 5 passengers but this van was having some routine maintenance done on the date of your tour. It is great feedback to hear about the comfort in the smaller van. We would never put three people in the back row (unless they were children) and agree that this wouldn't be ideal for our guests. There is so much to see and do on our tours that it can be hard to fit it all in! It sounds like Mairi showed you many of the fantastic spots on the Cabot Trail and we are happy to know that you were glad that you did it!
Our tour guide Frank...

Our tour guide Frank enhanced the journey into the Cabot Trail. His childhood tales growing up in the region were invaluable. He brought humor and history to a most memorable day. So much fun, informative and an enriched experience. Highly recommend this tour.

Best day on the Trail
cathy_r, Oct 2021
The whole day was memorable. We walked from our hotel to the pick up location. The tour started and finished as indicated. Harry was an awesome guide. His knowledge about CBI history and the towns we went through is impressive. He made the trip extremely enjoyable. Harry is a remarkable person with a wonderful sense of humour. We felt relaxed and safe as he drove us around the Trail. 100% value for the money spent. We three, would totally recommend the tour. Also, recommend a rain jacket or warm over coat this time of year.

Shane was an hour late, due to traffic. What was disappointing is that he did not really give a history of Sydney. If he did he would forget to put the microphone on. The passenger up front would ask a question and he would answer her, but I had no idea what she asked. He did seem a bit frazzled because he was late, understandably. It was a long day driving the Cabot Trail. I would not recommend this trip.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are also disappointed that you did not enjoy your tour with us. We do pride ourselves on delivering exceptional experiences as you can see from the majority of our reviews. Occasionally we fail to deliver on this and it sounds like this was one of those rare occasions. Shane was frustrated with being detained by a 50 minute traffic delay that was excessive and beyond his control. It wasn't a good way to start the day. This is the first (and hopefully only) time that a guide was delayed for one of our cruise excursion tours. The Cabot Trail trip does make for a long day. It is one of the most frequent comments we hear from visitors. It is more than an hour's drive from the Cruise Terminal to the beginning of the 198 mile driving route and we aim to show visitors as much as possible within the time they have. The nature of the tour is that it is a scenic driving route and has an added distance from Sydney so it is inherently a long day of driving. I can't offer an explanation on the microphone. Generally guides would leave the microphone on for the duration of the tour so I am unsure of why it would be turned off. Each guide's commentary may vary and he may have focused his commentary more on the Cabot Trail or Cape Breton Island than the history of Sydney as we spend so little time there. Our Taste of Sydney Tour actually delivers this history and is much less driving than the Cabot Trail Tour. I do hope that you did get to enjoy the splendid scenery that the Cabot Trail is known for and that the rest of your cruise runs smoothly.
