Thanks for your feedback and taking the time to review your tour with Andrew as your guide. Glamping under the Klein Karoo's unique starry night blanket is definitely something you'll never forget. Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is an unexpected oasis in this semi-desert region and the lux canvas tent accommodation it's nothing short of spectacular; who doesn't want to watch the sun dip below the horizon with a gin & tonic drink in hand on a private wooden deck balcony overlooking the waterhole dam?? Well, remember to keep'on adventuring and we hope to see you back in South Africa again soon - from Ferdi & team Hotspots2c

Our guide excellent comunication, very well person, handle everything very professional, i put no ten, i put 11👏👏

Awww, thanks for your feedback and so happy to know that you loved the Elephant Bush Walk activity.. 11 out of ten certainly makes it clear that you were overwhelmed with this unique and exciting experience... This is not your average walk-in-the-park, but rather an intimate way to observe the world’s biggest land mammal as you leisurely stroll with the gentle giants. These three elephants were orphaned when their parents were killed in the Kruger National Park and Buffelsdrift Game Lodge took them in as their land was big enough to keep the animals together. It's always a special event to say hi to these lovable creatures :) - thanks for your feedback and 5-star review. Appreciate it! Keep'on adventurin' - from Ferdi & team Hotspots2c
2 Day Safari
, Mar 2019
Guide was extremely nice, overall the game drives were basically the same for both days. Its about a 5 hour to and from hotels in Capetown. I'd recommend Kruger National Park if you are in search of a true Safari experience. The overnight accomodations were at a very nice B&B.

Thanks for your review, we’re thrilled that you enjoyed your tour guide's insights and the overnight accommodation. While the private game reserves near Cape Town are not as large as the Kruger National Park, we like the variety they offer and the fact that you can get a taste of safari on an overnight trip from Cape Town. This tour is aimed at those with limited travel time at hand and you'll certainly find the most authentic Big-5 experience higher up in Africa. If your time and budget allow - you should to head up north and be sure to book a Kruger trip too. Always keep'on adventuring..

The challenge is that this trip brought us to zoo-type attractions - really not a wildlife experience. Depending on where you live, you may have similar experiences available at home. If you want to go on safari in Africa - do that instead. That said, the highlight was the elephant interaction. Loved that! A lot of driving, scenery okay but not fabulous. Several missed opportunities - I stayed at the top level lodge. We arrived there at 7 but the hippos come out to graze at 6:30 so I missed them.

How beautiful are those elephants?! Breathtakingly beautiful. Sorry to hear that you felt the private game reserves were zoo-like, this is not at all how we hope guests will experience the beautiful wide open plains of these reserves. That being said, the smaller reserves within an overnight radius to Cape Town may not live up to the enormous African reserves across the continent; as you mentioned, if you are looking for a safari in Africa, it is better to save and allow more time to visit Kruger or even higher up north to Chobe or Kenya instead. We love the convince and unique experience that this overnight safari tour offers for those in Cape Town who only have 2 days available. May the beautiful elephants will forever be etched in your memories :) Keep'on exploring, from Ferdi & team
Although I loved seeing the animals...

Although I loved seeing the animals, there were a few things about this tour that frustrated me. First of all, it is advertised that the safari is a BIG FIVE game drive. This was not true our safari guide at Botlierskop told us that they do NOT have the big five no leopards at their reserve. I didn't really care about the leopard, so I wasn't disappointed, but they advertised the big five and our safari was not that. The other thing I didn't like was that they took us to Buffelsdrift for the elephant experience which is not included in the fee mind you, the elephant encounter was my favorite part of our vacation getting hugs from the elephants was memorable, but the fact that you had to pay separately or sit there for over an hour and do nothing seemed ridiculous. I don't know why it's not just included in the price. I liked the experience, but it did not meet my expectations.

Hi Monica, thank you for your informative review, happy that you loved seeing the magnificent wild animals on your overnight safari trip. We apologise if you felt mislead by the mention of the Big 5, we’re aware that leopards are nocturnal and incredibly hard to spot and fences do not confine their territory. It is a game drive in a wildlife reserve and animal sightings are never guaranteed on safari. We do not include the elephant experience on our tours to keep the base rate of the tour affordable for more people to join and rather offer this choice to guests on the tour as an add-on. We’re thrilled to hear that you loved those 3 gentle giants so much :) Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback of your trip, we wish you many happy adventures ahead. Keep'on adventuring - from Ferdi & team

Not a safari, more like a zoo. The best part of this tour is walking with the elephants, which is an extra cost.
Response from Host , Jul 2019
Hi Crystal, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Our apologies that you felt that the hand-picked private game reserves in this tour were zoo-like, this is not at all how we hope guests will experience the beautiful wide open plains of these reserves. Also worth mentioning that the lions on the reserve have recently been released from the smaller camp to now roam free on the reserve. The game reserves we visit on tour are some of the largest and most authentic re-introduced wildlife experiences within an overnight distance from the beautiful Mother City. Happy to hear that you loved the elephants so much, aren’t they just beautiful? We do not include the "walking with elephants" activity in the tour rate to keep the basic tour cost as affordable as possible. And this allows the freedom of choice for guests to partake in this optional activity or too simply save money for the next adventure. Keep'on exploring, from Ferdi & team

Great way to get out of Cape Town for the weekend. Not impressed with the night at the Turnberry Hotel which is apperantly a 4 star hotel more leaning towards 2 stars.

We were able to see the big 5 animals. We were so close to all the animals. The elephant walk was incredible. Feeding the elephants and having an elephant give you a hug was incredible! This was worth the money.
