Your day of hiking and biking starts with pickup from your centrally located Cape Town hotel. Climb aboard a tour vehicle for transfer to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where you'll get fitted with a mountain bike and helmet.

Get pedaling on paths through the fynbos, a unique biome inhabited by fire-prone shrubs. Learn about the Cape Floral Kingdom, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of protected land with high floral diversity. As you travel over the landscape, watch out for animals such as genet, lynx, antelope, bontebok, red hartebeest, eland, ostrich, baboons and Cape Mountain zebra. Stop for photo ops and views of the craggy cliffs lining the Atlanic Ocean.

Once you reach Buffels Baai, stop for a gourmet picnic of meat, fresh bread, dips and fruit, accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine. Explore the tidal pools and watch out for breaching Southern Right Whales during the months of June to November.

After lunch, strike out for the lighthouse at Cape Point on foot. This high point gives great views, and you can continue your hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope (1 hour) if you're feeling ambitious. At the Cape of Good Hope, take a photo standing on the southwesternmost point in Africa.

The adventure ends with drop-off back at your Cape Town hotel.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended September 2016

This will likely go down as one of my favorite experiences ever. Being the off-season, this ended up being a private tour for me. Skeezo, my guide, was absolutely wonderful. He and the driver were incredibly accommodating even when we were more than an hour off-schedule, and I wanted to ride a bit longer!. Hiking and riding around Cape Point and its surrounding nature reserve was incredible - I can't imagine only seeing it from a car or bus! The trip to Boulder Beach to see the penguins was more impressive than I thought it would be. And, after the long day, Skeezo emailed me a series of photos he took for me to remember the day by! Top notch!
