Cape Town City Private Art Tour

Art for Sale

Receive a morning pickup from select Cape Town hotels (please confirm your accommodations are within the included areas). You’ll spend the rest of your day exploring Cape Town via a combination of a private minivan and on foot.

Start the trip in the city’s colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood, learning about the influence of the Cape Malay group on the city’s food and culture. Proceed from there to Table Mountain, where you can take a ride on the cable car (own expense) to the top, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the city and greater Cape area.

Coming back down, you'll head to Cape Town’s Company Gardens for stroll through the manicured grounds. You'll soon reach the South African National Gallery, home to works by a wide range of works from European and South African artists. You can also explore the museum’s collections of textiles, photography, beadwork, and sculpture that celebrate national artists along with those from across the African continent and beyond.

Continue to the Cape Gallery, passing by notable Cape Town landmarks like St. George’s Cathedral, Cape Town Parliament, and the National Library while en route. Make sure to check out the striking Dutch- and Georgian-style facades of the buildings near the gallery, plus the thriving collection of street art adorning the nearby walls. Following this gallery visit you’ll take a short walk over to the Association of Visual Arts (AVA) Gallery, where you’ll get a glimpse of a range of contemporary South African art.

Take a break after your gallery stops for lunch at Youngblood’s Beautifull Food (own expense), a bistro that sells a range of art from local creatives in addition to tasty food. Finish the day by stopping by the Castle of Good Hope, which houses a wide range of historic furniture and paintings in the William Fehr Collection. You’ll then receive a drop-off back at your Cape Town hotel.
