What You Can Expect

Cape Town City and Table Mountain Private Tour

Table Mountain Cableway

Pick between morning and afternoon departure times at the time of booking, and then receive a pickup from your Cape Town region hotel at the appointed hour.

You’ll start the trip on a definite “high point” by journeying to the top of Cape Town’s famous Table Mountain aboard a cable car (ticket is at own expense), offering you dramatic views of the city and its coastline down below. You’ll also learn about the history of the construction for this dramatic transport option, which dates back to 1912.

Continue the trip by proceeding to Company Gardens, an oasis of calm amidst the hustle of this urban South African area. You’re sure to appreciate this serene environment’s collection of shady trees, numerous squirrels, and historic monuments like an 18th-century sundial, statue of Cecil John Rhodes, and a Saffren Pear Tree believed to be one of the country’s oldest.

While visiting Company Gardens you’ll also head to the South African Museum, an institution within the garden grounds that dates back to 1825. Inside this fascinating landmark you can learn more about the biological and cultural forces that have shaped the earth in the past and present.

Leaving the museum behind, you’ll continue to the Castle of Good Hope, a 17th-century building that is known to be the oldest surviving structure in South Africa. There will also be time to stop by the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood, known as the longstanding home of the city’s “Malay” population and the epicenter of its Muslim community. At the end of the excursion you’ll be transported back to your hotel.
