This was an amazing experience. Karen was our tour guide she was well informed about the chef and very respectful of her home. The chef was funny and very talented as a cook. We learned how to cook samosas, pratha bread and chicken curry. We then sat down for a family style meal. We enjoyed the fellowship as we listened to our chef talk about the Bo-Kaap, District Six and the changes her family experienced during that devastating time and learning more about the faith of this community. The cooking experience was followed by the walking tour through Bo-Kaap where we visited the muslim temple, an art shop and then the spice shop where many local buy their spices to cook the food that we ate. It was a wonderful and informative day with great food and fellowship.
