What You Can Expect

Begin your day trek with pickup at your Cape Town lodging. Travel with your guide to the private reserve, home to the trail through the craggy mountains.

The trail starts out fairly challenging, then flattens out, traveling through the fynbos, or shrub land typical to South Africa. Your guide will provide info on the native vegetation and animals; keep your camera ready for potential sightings of black eagles, ravens, baboons and mountain antelope as you walk.

Exit the alpine shrub land and scramble up a craggy peak, from which you'll get views of the entire southwestern Cape, even Table Mountain on a clear day. Enjoy the views at the top and sit down for a picnic lunch.

Climb down via a switchback path with view after view of the mountains ranges above Franschhoek.

Your hiking day ends with drop-off back at your Cape Town hotel.
