A fun time with lots to drink and informative as well. Walk it off on the beach at the end. All included - takes about 4 hours.
We had two of the best drivers/guides to take us on our tour! Papa G and Aarin were like family. The folks over at the rum distillery were great! I don't think I've every had a tasting that went this great! Taste as much as you like and I liked that dark rum! We opted not to go to the brewery since no one in my group drinks beer and stayed a little longer at the distillery and stopping for a great lunch on the way to the beach break at 7 mile beach. The beach was great and the overall excursion met our needs and expectations!
This was a great excursion! My husband and I were picked up by Clark Tours and escorted by Marcos to the facilities in this excursion. We were by ourselves and felt like we had a private tour. First, we were taken to the Tortuga Factory and tasted rum cakes and their rums. We then went to the Cayman Islands Distillery and their rums are fantastic! We were pretty much handed a shot glass and left to try out the rums on our own. After about 45 minutes we were escorted to the back and showed the distillery. My husband enjoyed talking to the workers in charge of this process. We thought from this point we would be going to the beach, but Marcos then took us to the brewery to sample beers. The beers were generous portions and by noon we were not feeling any pain. We then had a couple of hours at a nice hotel and beautiful beach to enjoy the water. Beach amenities were not included in the tour and the hotel wanted to charge for use of an umbrella and their lunches were pricey. Use of the outdoor showers was free of charge. We walked across the street and had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Marcos was prompt to pick us up promptly and took us to port at the time arranged. If you like to drink, then this is a tour for you. The Cayman Island is absolutely beautiful and during this excursion we saw a good chunk of it!!!
Excellent experience! Leo was a wonderful guide. We truly enjoyed the Distillery, Brewery and Beach! The Rum was great, the Cayman Island Brewery was an unexpected delight, wonderful brews and staff. 7 mile Beach is everything you've ever heard and more!
The tour was as advertized and done in a timely manor. Te staff of the locations we visited were friendly and answered any questions anyone in the group had.
Thanks for a great tour.
The tour was wonderful and enjoyed the tastings too !! We are originally from Southern Ohio and was interesting to learn about the Bourbon barrels being from our back door in Kentucky. Leo our driver and guide was amazing.
The rum distillery was fascinating. Our hosts were fun and informative. The rum bar sampling within was deliciously intoxicating. The brewery was very similar to a local craft brewery we frequent in Baton Rouge. The fresh beers we sampled were smooth and refreshing on a hot day. The beach was beautiful and welcoming, but, bring your credit card or lots of cash if you want to drink. The tour bus and its driver were both very accommodating. Would definitely take this tour again!
Leo was the best tour guide along with everyone along the way!
It was only us 3 on the tour, all you can drink? It's a steal! The rum cakes were delicious, distillery was worth it along with the brewery. If you're truly interested in the process or just want to drink a lot, THIS IS IT!
SO many Delicious rums!!! We had Zane (? The new guy) giving us tastings and the tour. He was very nice and very informative. We can and #39;t wait to purchase some of their run at Total Wine!
My wife and I had an amazing time on this tour. Our guide, Leo, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and ensured that we enjoyed ourselves. This is a must, whether you're staying on the island, or just stopping by on a cruise. Lots of fun, great people, and tons of free drinks.
Nice tour combo, you get to learn about rum making and tasting, brewery making and tasting and then the beach, what could be better? If you've done the sting rays and other popular attractions, don't miss this. Our tour guide Leo was excellent, very courteous and accommodating... The tour bus was clean and the tour service overall was great. Would recommend!
Leo, who is the owner of this tour was our personal driver and guide. He was very kind and knowledgeable about the island. His A/C tour bus was perfect for the tour and we were always helped in and out of the bus at every stop. During this whole tour you felt very relaxed and in good hands. My favorite was probably the rim distillery as they took a very personal touch with us to make the visit as outstanding as it was. This tour takes several hours but went by too fast, because it was so much fine. The topping of this trip was the last stop which was visiting the beautiful 7 mile beach for an hour before getting back on the ship. You could sample all the different types of rum and could have as much as you wanted. At the beer distillery you got to sample beer from about 7 types on draft. I loved this excursion which is not listed in cruise guide of excursions as I found this through Trip Advisor
Was a great tour. We really enjoyed it. Liked that it included some beach time.
My group had a great time on this tour! Leo was extremely accommodating and super friendly! Moses was hilarious at the rum distillery and guaranteed we had a good time. I definitely recommend this tour!! We couldn't have asked for a better experience with better people!
Excellent tour, couldn't ask for any better. The tour company was a local operator and Leo was our driver. He was great, friendly and informative. The bus was comfortable with A/C and it didn't feel like a deathtrap like some buses do.The tour consists of a rum and beer tour and you can have as much as you want at both places.
My husband and I really enjoyed the brewery and distillery tour. At both locations, the employees were incredibly nice and knowledgeable about their products. When we return to the island, we will go back and visit both locations again. Highly recommend if you are a beer and rum fan like us.
Leo met us outside the cruise terminal at the taxi stand, there were only 8 of us on the tour. The rum distillery was interesting and we got to try numerous rums and also a vodka. The tour of the distillery was interesting and informative. Next we headed to the Brewery, where there were about 5 or 6 beers to choose from, no limit on how many you may try or drink. After the brewery we headed to the rum cake factory, just about every excursion in Grand Cayman seems to take you there. Could have done without this stop. Last stop was the beach, it was cloudy and sprinkling that day and just the four of us went to the beach, the others opted to go back to the ship. The only complaint about the tour would be length of time allowed at the beach, we had an hour, two hours would be better, just not enough time to relax and enjoy the beach.
Loved the tour. Leo , the local tour guide, was prompt, professional and entertaining. The stop at the distillery was fun and informative and Moses was a great host. The cakes at Tortuga Rum are delicious and the brewery stop was entertaining as well. The only drawback was that our time at 7 Mile Beach was not long enough, but that's a good reason for us to go back!
Great Rum and Beer tour with a stop at the Tortuga Rum Cake factory. Great fun and value. Hope they don't ruin it by raising the prices. Rum samples, beer samples and awesome hospitality with Moses and Chantal.
Great tour and Great experience. I would do that tour again. Lots of fun. Drinks and Laughter.
Our driver, Leo, was excellent! Very knowledgeable and accommodating with older folks and getting us back to the ship on time! The distillery/island tour was interesting and 7Mile beach was beautiful.
Tour guide and driver were both good, however, wish we had more time at the beach.
