What You Can Expect

Stingray City Experience from Grand Cayman

Visit Stingray City!

Following pickup from your hotel on Grand Cayman, transfer to the marina where you'll meet your boat. Watch as the island's coastline recedes and sip the provided water or juice during your 30-minute boat ride out to a series of sandbars in clear, shallow water.

Upon arrival at Stingray City, jump out of the boat into the calm, waist-deep water. The stingrays that congregate here are wild, but are accustomed to interactions with humans. During your 45-minute stay, pet them, hug them and hand feed them with the provided stingray food. Local legend says a stingray's kiss provides seven years of good luck.

Climb back on your boat and head over to the Barrier Reef or the Coral Garden for some snorkeling. Don the provided snorkel equipment and spend about a half hour floating peacefully in the calm waters amongst coral and schools of tropical fish. Your guide is available for beginner snorkel instruction.

Return to the marina on the boat, then transfer back to your Grand Cayman hotel at the end of this 3-hour tour.

Very nice team of people, from the lady I had spoken with on the phone making the arrangements about getting to the meeting spot we stayed at Wyndham which was on the other side of the island and since this was during the slow season and the first tour of the morning they didn't pick up on east end, though it wasn't a problem as we had a car rental for the time we stayed in Grand Cayman, to the bus driver through the crew on the boat - positive, polite and friendly. The tour is very affordable and held to highest standards by Rowan Water Sports

1.They provide free of charge the fins and snorkeling equipment as well as the life vests for all of those who want to have more fun in the water the tour includes stingray city stop which is a very shallow water, maybe up to your waist, and then there is another stop where you can swim/snorkel above the reef in the deeper waters.

2.They provide also some water free of charge if you for some reason forget to bring some with you make sure to do so along with some food as the tour last about 3-4 hours and all of the physical activity sun exposure plus probably early morning breakfast since the tour departs from the last stop at Westin Hotel at 9:30, but that's depending where you stayed at, we stayed at Wyndham so we need to drive across the Island for about 45m-1h so our breakfast was much earlier than maybe some people who got picked up from the west side of the island

3. Don't worry if you don't have a waterproof camera as they do take picture of you on the spot with the stingrays - hugging them, kissing them and getting a back massage yes, that's what you are reading correctly - the prices are 15 per picture or 50 for all of them, which naturally makes sense to go with the full package ours was 25 pictures, not all perfect but definitely more than 4 were great so do your math - they do accept the credit card, this is taken care off during the return to the harbor they meet individually and go over the pictures, take your info and e-mail you the pictures to your e-mail the next day, all legit

Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to experience something amazing and feel comfortable that is being in good hands.

The tour was great! there were only about 10 of us on a huge boat so plenty of room! There were other boats doing similar tours that you could see were noticeably all squeezed onto the same size boat with three times the people. The boat, captain, and photographer were all great and very entertaining. Just be sure to take extra cash for the pictures as they were all or nothing for 40 when we went on. We were unable to purchase individuals for cheaper.

My family definitely had a day to remember. We were on a boat with only 16-17 people on board. We had so much room and the Captain and his adult son were able to provide better service and attention due to the small number on board. Unfortunately I can not remember the Captain's name but both he and his son are originally from South America. They work hard and make sure you feel safe every step of the way. We all had a chance to 'cuddle', feed and kiss the stingrays! We were not rushed and the photos were amazing. You can even bring your own phones in waterproof cases to take photos as well.
The Captain even dove in the water to get the stingray food. He brought up a conch shell and let everyone try some of the meat. They took the time to explain about these creatures and how to respect them and enjoy the experience. We then went to snorkel and see fish, coral and more stingrays swimming below us. As the Captain mentioned, it is much more relaxing snorkelling with a life jacket on fyi. If you are lucky enough to be able to spend the day with this Captain and his adult son - you will be glad you did! I can't say enough how much these two made this day so memorable for myself and my family. Have fun!

The company was outstanding and the water and experience was worth doing. The only downfall was that there were children on board allowed to move about the boat freely and were not required to wear life vests. Some parents are irresponsible when it comes to their children.

Tour guide was very nice. The stingrays were amazing. Our tour guides went a fetched us our own personal stingray. Pictures were a bit pricey in my opinion especially since you only get them emailed to you. I would have preferred getting a CD or a jump drive with the pictures to feel more comfortabl
