Wonderful guide love the horse such character! Tour guide had lots of knowledge. Nice young lad.. Will tell my friends to take this tour.
Great tour. sights and roads used are by lottery. 3 colored balls so 3 different routes. Drive was very knowable and entertaining. Will do again and hope for different colored ball.
The actual tour was very very good, enjoyed the historic talk and the sights surrounding Charlestons market area.
Good value for money
Criticisms would be that we got there on time but they wouldn't leave for another 30 minutes, frustrating to wait.
Also there are so many other carriage tours around that it's tempting to jump ship and go elsewhere!
Great introduction and orientation to the city and its history. Phillip, our carriage driver, was excellent. A must-do for anyone new to Charleston.
beautiful, the carriage ride was great the young man driving the carriage was full of information, he worked well with his horse Riley who apparently was a novice ! Charleston is truly beautiful
Tim was fantastic, very knowledgeable of the area and very friendly!
the host was friendly and very informative. she share stories which were interesting.
It was great! We had a wonderful driver who made the entire ride an experience we won't forget. He was so knowledgeable and was funny and engaging throughout our tour.
Perfect weather for a lovely ride through the historical district. Our driver Josh was informative and entertaining. We had walked around the area on foot earlier in our stay so we were familiar with the area but we were very glad that we had signed on for a carriage tour. We learned so much more during the ride. Can't recommend it enough.
My wife and I visited Charleston for our 35th Anniversary. This was our first trip to Charleston. The carriage tour was a wonderful way to experience part of the city and our guide was wonderful, charming and presented a really down to earth side of Charleston. This is truly a must part of your historic Charleston experience.
We loved the tour and guide. Our carriage has 6 people which was nice to not be packed in the seats. Everyone was friendly and talkative. Good weather and frisky horses. Great tour.
This is probably the best way to see the historic part of the city and learn about it. Our guide was a RIOT! Some folks might be a bit put off by his frank sense of humor, but we thought he was fabulous.
Great tour and great information. Saw parts of Charleston that I didn't know existed and I am now able to drive and tour the city myself from a place of knowledge. I now know why those bolts are in the side of the building and why certain homes look different than others. Great job HCTofC
LOUIS B United States of ...
very good tour guide who also recommended the most amazing resturant, Low Country Bistro. The only thing is there are several routes the guide can take and we thought we were going on the Rainbow Row Tour but the tour guide is told which route to take by a lottery system.
Had a great visit in Charlestown, our driver gave great information about the city and it's people. I've been to Charleston before but this was a good excursion to do with the family while on vacation.
I took a carriage tour about 8 years ago. This one was a different route and equally good. Would definitely recommend it as an intro to downtown Charleston.
All 15 of our family went on the carriage ... It was a very hot day in Charleston... I loved the historic idea of the carriage ride but the kids all 7 - from ages 17 to 10 were very concerned for the horse. Our drive r explained the horse was on 1 hour and off 1 hour. It appears it is a political battle in historic Charleston over keeping the horse drawn carriages or getting eliminating them. Our driver, who is from Charleston and a supporter of keeping the carriages, manages shocking to take us by several houses where people who lived, were for eliminating the carriages. He voiced his opinion often. Loved the idea but.......
We picked the wrong tour company. Try the and #34;sash and #34; people instead. Luckily we and #39;d already taken an excellent walking tour, but if this had been our entire overview of the historic area it would have been sorely lacking. Our tour guide actually wasted time talking about a Halloween experience w his son t
I did not find tour guide very enthusiastic .Usually they are very entertaining but he looked bored.
Horrible experience. I've done this before a few years ago and it was wonderful, informative with great facts and colorful info about the city. This time we had a guide who appeared hung over, never made eye contact with the other riders, contradicted his own info and spent more time urging on the horse who he kept telling us was the slowest horse in the city. Due to his lack of eye contact, heavy accent and tendecy to mumble, even those of us who were from the south could not understand him. It was beyond a dissapointment, I don't know who trains and then reviews these guides but someone is asleep at the reins......
