A fantastic trip which was so much fun - a highlight of our holiday. The Tour host at the park was also superb - not to mention the elephants!

What a wonderful day! Thank you for Dang, our guide and his crew for this lifetime experience! Enjoyed every minute from the poo-poo factory to the elephant bathing. And please support them and purchase the pictures after your tour. I keep looking at them, favorite part from our vacation.

This was a great tour! Probably the most fun we had in Chiang Mai. Our tour guide was so informative about the elephants. They are gentle giants and we had so much fun walking them, feeding them and bathing them. The lunch served was also delicious. A+++

Loved the time I spent at Baanchang Elephant Park in Chiang Mai. I was picked up right on time with another couple, so there were only 3 of us. The day prior there had been 20, so we were very lucky. We first visited the PooPooPaper factory, where we learned about what happens with Elephant Poo. Then we were taken to the Elephant park where we met our elephants and got to know them. We fed them and bathed them and it was really great. Just a word of caution..I was severely bitten by red ants, either from sitting on the bamboo having lunch or in the field as they were eating. My legs were a mess, probably 50 bites that all turned red and ugly. I was advised to go and get some salve, which I did, but it took a few days for them to calm down. Al in all, it was an amazing experience, one I will remember for ever!

We were picked up from hotel promptly and after picking up other members of group we stopped at a factory that makes paper from elephant poop. An interesting visit with an opportunity to make paper from the poop. Next we headed off to the elephant park. Our guide Nai, was with us throughout the tour and briefed us on safety and what we were going to do. Then came the wonderful elephants - they looked well looked after and stress free - we wanted to make sure the elephants were wel treated and this wasn't just another park that drew tourists with little care for the stress they put on the animals. It was agreat experience and well worth every penny we paid. Lunch was a hugh box of Pad Thai - delicious and we ate while the elephants were relaxing after their walk with us. A definite must.

This was great. I'm not giving a 5 because they didn't really prepare you for the experience...Wear comfy shoes and be ready to take a walk. The guide was awesome and it was an experience of a lifetime!

we enjoyed the company of 3 elephants. there were 14 of us, and each one of us had a bag full of sugar cane. The elephants were quite greedy, everyone was trying to feed each elephant at same time. So sometimes these elephants have a trunk full of sugarcane and shoved them into its mouth. Madame was VERY fat! I wondered if all that much sugar cane is healthy for the animal? Why sugarcane and not bamboo instead? Bathing the elephants after lunch was fun, and they enjoyed the attention too, and can get playful. It was sad to see other elephants still chained up.. a short chain and on cement. I wish they were allowed to roam free.

If you want to be close to elephants, then this is the tour for you. You can walk them, bathe them, feed them, and learn about their care. While this park does not engage in forcing elephants to play soccer, paint, or wear painful chairs for rides, they still are not fully humane, however. Be prepared to see elephants chained on short leads for hours at a time and handlers using sharpened gaff hooks to correct elephant behavior. So, they still have a ways to go to be up to western animal treatment standards.
