What To Expect

Make your way to Lou Malnati's Pizzeria to meet your guide and your group for a culinary walking tour of Chicago. This tour covers about 1.4 miles (2.2 kilometers) of walking and includes five food tastings — enough for a filling lunch.

Your first stop is Lou Malnati’s Chicago deep-dish style pizza, one of the best regarded pies in the city. Skip the line and taste it for yourself.

Then, continue through downtown Chicago en route to Al's Beef in Chicago’s Little Italy neighborhood, learning about the history of the area and major landmarks as you go.  Portillo’s Hot Dogs, and Garrett Popcorn, and Copper Fox come next — all classic Chicago chow with deep roots in the area.

Cross Michigan Avenue and walk down the aptly named Magnificent Mile to see the Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower, Chicago Water Tower, and more between bites.

There were 7 of us and we all enjoyed the food and history tour. The food was either waiting or came very soon. Several places we were packed in like sardines but the food and experience was worth it . The guide encouraged everybody to have fun and that helped us interact with strangers in our tour.

The River North food tour was amazing. Luke, our guide was charismatic and very knowledgeable with Chicago’s history, charm and food origin. Each place was delicious, and perfect size portions for a walking tour. I highly recommend taking the food tour or any Viator offers. Well organized, easy to book and redeem, and great opportunity to meet people from all over. I will use Viator again for future bookings.
