Highly recommend. Had no idea there was so much Tiffany mosaic tile in Chicago. Beautiful to see and learn a lot about Chicago history and architecture.
Would highly recommend this walking tour of Chicago. It is a niche in architectural tours offering insights oftentimes missed when wandering the streets of Chicago!
The 2 hour tour went by very fast. It was a very cold day but going in and out of buildings made the weather a non-issue. Marie was our host and she was very knowledgeable and very fun. She had some fun facts about Chicago and the architecture, which gave me a new appreciation for some of the landmarks. My two favorite buildings were the Chicago Cultural Building and the United Methodist Church. Admiring their magnificence and learning their history gave me a little insight into the Chicago of years gone by. Thank you for a great Chicago memory!
If you have any interest in architecture and design, this is the tour that will not disappoint. I have a genuine obsession and curiosity of A and D and we had a great time and saw a lot. Our guide was really knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions - in a heartbeat I'd do this tour again.
Elizabeth gave us an extremely well prepared and informative tour of the lobbies of several downtown landmarks as well as the pedway. Her interactive using iPads tour was full of interesting facts and esoterica but also gave me the best explanation of modern architecture I have ever had, and she was entertaining at the same time. The 6 adults in my party all loved it. I highly recommend it!
Interesting Tour. Learned about buildiings and sites wouldn't have thought to even look at while in Chicago.
Alex was very clear and clever. He made the tour fascinating and imparted his passion for the local architecture
Alex keep us moving. One person on the tour from Chicago said she had no clue about the Pedway or the history that we learned w/ Alex. We told lots of folks about the notes and history we learned from Alex. Very informative. Highly recommend.
I thorough enjoyed this tour. I would have liked for it to go on longer and I would definitely have taken another one of their tours if I had been in Chicago longer. The guide was well versed and a great walking tour leader who effortlessly guided us around. It felt like a group of friends walking around downtown with a particularly knowledgeable pal showing us things. For those who have only take one of the architecture cruises, this tour offers a different perspective--inside, underground, as well as public spaces both old and new.
Elizabeth made the tour more amazing. Her knowledge, personality and pride are an asset to Chicago
Amanda was a great guide. we got great insights on Chicago. would totally recommend!
Great tour - well informed and knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended!
Great tour. Our guide Sonny was quite knowledgeable and kept the tour moving at a comfortable pace, with plenty of time for questions. This was a great way to see some hidden gems, as well as see some familiar sites in a new light.
Our guide Pawel was wonderful and his knowledge of Chicago architecture was outstanding. Highly recommended.
This tour was a particularly great experience. The tour guide Paul was amazing and gave us great insights not only into the Chicago architecture but also thoughts about art that have stuck with us for a long time. I highly recommend this walk through the city.
Took this tour on a rainy day and it was almost equally inside and outside walking, FYI. Our guide Pawel (Paul) was engaging, iand very knowledgeable about architecture and Chicago. He is a good storyteller, which helps things you see come to life. Well worth the time spent!
This was a SIX star experience! Our guide, Alex Bean, is so knowledgeable about Chicago history, architecture, and culture. He shared stories that I imagine few Chicagoans even know. We had 2 ipads to easily share among the 8 of us: historical photographs, closeups, etc. Visiting some of the major sights with Alex provided extra insight: Cultural Center, Marshall Fields, etc. He also took us to the Temple Building, 22 floors of office building built in 1922, but complete with a beautiful church on floor one and a spire. I recommend this trip to anyone who wants a great intro to Chicago.
