What You Can Expect

Viator VIP: Willis Tower Skydeck Early Access, Trolley City Tour and Chicago River Cruise

Viator VIP River Cruise

Head to Skydeck Chicago at Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) and enjoy exclusive early access to this interactive experience on the 103rd floor, an attraction that brings thousands of visitors a day. With this Viator VIP, you'll arrive before normal operating hours to covet uninterrupted views without the crowd. Please arrive at the Skydeck 15 minutes prior to your selected departure time in order to be allowed up with VIP groups. If you are not 15 minutes early, you will have to wait with the general public.

Learn fun facts from an audio tour and snap photos of Lake Michigan and city sights as you step onto the Ledge — a series of glass-and-steel cubes that protrude 4.3 feet (1.3 meters) from the Skydeck. Hovering 1,353 feet (1,353 meters) above the city, you’ll find yourself standing outside the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere.

After an hour here, take a 2-hour trolley tour of downtown Chicago with onboard narration about city history, architecture and landmarks. Motor along LaSalle Street in the Loop, and admire structures such as the Rookery Building. See glass-and-steel skyscrapers by Mies Van Der Rohe, the corncob-shaped towers in Marina City, and famous sculptures by Picasso, Calder, Miró and Chagall.

Make a stop at Millennium Park, cross the drawbridge over the Chicago River and continue along the Magnificent Mile past the John Hancock Center, Tribune Tower, Wrigley Building, Grant Park, Soldier Field and the Field Museum of Natural History, before a stop at Adler Planetarium for awe-inspiring views of the Chicago skyline on the shores of Lake Michigan.

On arrival at Navy Pier, use your free time to grab lunch (own expense) before boarding the boat for a 75 minute Chicago River cruise. Learn from an architecture expert about notable landmarks while you drift past the IBM Building, Aon Center and Willis Tower — now viewed from the water.
Finish your 5.5- to 6-hour VIP tour of Chicago back at Navy Pier, with plenty of time left in your day to explore on your own.

Viator VIPs feature travel experiences not typically available to the general public — from behind- the-scenes access to private viewings and VIP service — at many of the world’s top attractions, often with no lines and no crowds. Viator VIP tours are not available from other 3rd-party online sellers.

Early access to the Willis Tower is worth it!! When we exited, there were lines, lines, lines. It was so lovely to be able to walk around the 103rd floor freely without crowds and look out the windows without having to try to look over people. My only downside comment is that our guide, who was pleasant, did not offer any information at all but simply rode up the elevator with us.
The Trolley Tour was fantastic and that was really due to the excellent driver we had who was full of great information, details, stories and spunk. He had lots of history to share about the varied buildings and was very smooth and familiar with the streets.
The River Cruise was lovely. The narrator was superb. The river cruise gives one an excellent and different view of the iconic architecture that makes Chicago unique! This VIP tour is worth every cent! DO IT! :

Early bird VIP Viator Willis Tower tour gets you in before the crowds, but be warned that the selfie cameras in the glass windows are not operating at that time (8 a.m.) Trolley tour was informative, but the highlight by far was the architectural river tour by Pat, our outstanding guide!

We took this early morning tour on Saturday, August 12. Definitely worth taking. Plenty of time for photos at Willis Tower before crowds arrived. Our guide for the trolley city tour was great, very engaging, and very patient. Unfortunately I don't remember his name. Victor was our guide for the Chicago River Cruise. Great commentary and obviously had a passion for the architecture of the city.

The Viator VIP package is worth every single penny! Do not miss out on this! Early entry to the Willis Tower Skydeck one hour before the general public was great. No lines, no crowds. The trolley tour was fun and we stopped at a lot of great local attractions. The trolley driver was entertaining and took us to as many of our requested locations as possible. And finally, the Architecture River Cruise - one of the best tourist activities I have ever done in any city. It is breathtaking! So glad I purchased this package!!!

The early access to the Willis Tower SkyDeck was great - you can get all the pictures you want and see what you want to see without a big crowd. Our tour time was 8:30 am we arrived at 8:00 am but did not actually go up to the SkyDeck until 8:45 am. It was still just enough time before the first crowd arrived.

The city tour by trolley was informative and fun. We stopped at several places along the way to take photos, stretch our legs, and see the sights.

When we arrived at Navy Pier, we got our cruise tickets first then went to the food court for lunch. Many choices. On the architecture cruise, we enjoyed a drink and great views of the unique buildings that make up the Chicago skyline. The commentary was interesting and informative. Upon departure, we purchased a photo taken of our group at the start of the cruise that was very good and affordable.

Overall, a great way to learn about the city of Chicago and scope out places to check out in more detail. We highly recommend it!
