Great trip with a great tour guide. Sue kept us informed about the local history and geography in a running commentary.
The train ride was outstanding with great views and accommodation
The trip to the sheep farm with a shearing demonstration was a once in a lifetime experience.
The scenery was fantastic.
Those that went on the jet boat ride had a great time.
All and all it was a great outing, will remember that the rest of our lives.

The trip was customised to suit most travellers. We were picked up at the hotel in a small mini bus with only 12 other passengers. The train left from Christchurch but we travelled to Springfield on the bus to pick up the train as there was little of interest to see between Christchurch and there. The driver stopped at a small cafe at Springfield to enjoy a coffee - the pies were amazing. The train arrived after refreshments and the trip to Arthur's pass was incredibly scenic with great views on both sides of the train. The viewing decks were always crowded so getting good photos was not easy, however we took many through the panoramic windows and they came out fine. The minibus was waiting when the train stopped and we disembarked. The driver then took us to some great sights that bigger coaches could not access and we had lunch in a mountain hotel overlooking a river. Quite a long day but full of great views.

The trip was well planned and varied. We rode in the train, walked a short hike, saw flora and fauna, got up close to the sheep shearing and enjoyed a tasty lunch. The guide was knowledgeable and shared only the important sites along the way. This gave us time to absorb the breathtaking scenery and immerse ourselves in our own thoughts. It was a great day!

It was really awesome. I started The journey early morning with my family.
The sightseeing was incredibly....In my whole life I haven't seen it before ....I really recommend the tourists to try that journey.
I read an article about the best 16 trains journeys around the world and The Arthur's Pass Day tour was one of them.
Then we moved to Alpine Jet boat adventure. It was really a professional service and we had a great time. At the end
we visited a sheep farm and we had demo about sheep shearing from the owner of the farm. it was really amazing journey for my family.
I would like the thank every one starting from the viator company and especially our coach. Unfortunately I don't remember his name.

Fantastic day trip. We left downtown Christchurch by bus and had a great driver who was knowledgeable and friendly. A big plus on this outing was that all of us on the bus got along famously. The train ride to Authur's Pass was fantastic going thru incredible scenery. We had a great lunch at Arthur's Pass then met our driver again for excursions to a sheep station Colin, the owner of the sheep station was a great guy who gave us a demo of sheep shearing and a jet boat ride on an incredible blue glacial river. All in all a great way to spend a day out of Christchurch.

Really enjoyed this tour. It was well run, our guide was very informative, and we got to experience a lot of things in one day. I would recommend it highly.

We had limited time in Christchurch and one of the highlights we wanted to experience was the TranzAlpine train ride. It was proving to be a logistical problem because if we rode it all the way to Greymouth we would be on the train all day. Then we found the Day Tour and this allowed us to experience the train, enjoy the Coach ride which allowed us to get off for photo opportunities. In addition, we had the jet boat ride and the visit to the Farm. It was a small group which made it even more enjoyable and seemingly less commercial. We highly recommend this to anyone and especially if you are trying to get the most out of your day.

We were fortunate to have our own private tour van Canterbury Leisure Tours and tour guide Sue. We were picked up from our hotel and transported to the Springfield train station where we boarded the TranzAlpine train to Arthur's Pass. The train has a viewing deck from which one can not only see the amazing landscape gorges, braided stream beds, snow-capped mountains, etc. but also take some fantastic photos. Our very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide Sue met us at Arthur's Park and spent the rest of the day showing us around the park and surrounding areas. The visit to a sheep farm was one of the highlights of the day. Despite the cold temperatures, it was a memorable trip!
