What You Can Expect

Cinque Terre Kayaking Trip from Monterosso

Paddle by the pretty villages of the Cinque Terre on a kayak trip

Meet your guide in Monterosso to begin your kayaking adventure. Pack your own lunch snacks for the ride and get comfortable on your kayak with a brief safety overview before heading out.

Slip on your life jacket, settle into your single or double kayak and set off with your guide on the beautiful blue waters. All skill levels can be accommodated, regardless of whether you’re a first-timer or paddling pro.

Glide into the Cinque Terre Protected Marine Area, admiring views of the surrounding cliffs. As you paddle at a relaxed pace, keep your eyes out for seabirds and dolphins.

Pass the terraced hills of Vernazza, the village celebrated for its wine production, before pulling into Guvano beach. Spread out with your snacks and take in some sun or recharge with a dip.

After some down time, hop back in your kayak and head toward the colorful town of Corniglia. Enjoy more time ashore or, if you wish, continue kayaking south toward Manarola and Riomaggiore.

After five hours of seaside exploration, your tour will conclude at your original departure point.

Sunset Option (2.5 hours):
Depart from Monterosso at 4,30pm aboard your kayak. Take in the sunset and enjoy the sea at an hour when the crowds are gone and everything is quieter. Paddle toward Vernazza to discover its cliffs and caves, stop at a waterfall spring, and take a dip in the water.

Then pull into a quiet cove accessible only by sea for an Italian aperitivo. Enjoy local organic wine and focaccia from Liguria before heading back to your original departure point.

Another great tour experience! Small group of 8 and our guide was Giuseppe. We were very fortunate to have good weather and be able to take the kayaks out, always a risk with this time of year as we got rained out of a boat tour earlier in the week in Capri. Guiseppe was an excellent guide, again as well as an excellent teacher. I hadn't been on a Kayak in years and it difficult to get this wrong. We did the sunset tour and we were out on the water for about 3 hours with a break mid way for a snack of focaccia and wine! Giuseppe was very watchful and kept the group together, as well as took many pictures of us while out on the water. he took us into little caves and through some small grottos that made it very interesting and exciting! we saw a small waterfall, and our snack break took place in a small rocky cove surrounded by beautiful limestone. If you like to keep it active on your trips this is a good way to switch it up from all the hiking and walking you'll be doing!

Highly recommend. It's a quick tour so you don't have to be bogged down like longer tours and the views are incredible.

June, 2017 - This is a MUST DO!! Walter was the guide. There were only 8 of us on our sunset kayak. Walter was very patient and made sure everyone had what they needed in their dry sacks. Informed beginners on how to paddle. We were close to the shoreline and went in and out of some coves. On our return is when we sat out on the rocks enjoying focaccia bread, some wine and getting to know each other. Walter was always making sure everyone was following him closely behind but far enough to check out the scenery. He was informative as to what we were looking at. We all had a lot of laughs.- Americans and Italians together.
Much thanks is also given to Rosa not sure of correct spelling of name who always took my calls and directed me to the Beach at Monterosso, as I had a difficult time finding Walter. She gave perfect directions to this American traveling solo and coming from Austria. She was very gracious and informed Walter that i was running late. And, of course, Walter waited. This kayak was a lot of fun! Mary from Massachusetts, USA
