This tour requires some walking as the van cannot get into the towns.
The tour is small group which is always the best way to do a tour as it is more personalized and easier to hear and enjoy.
We would highly recommend this tour; the extra cost was worth it!

What a great trip! Yaris was an AWESOME guide. We enjoyed learning so many things from him about the region. The towns are small and easy to see in just a few hours. Although some shops were closed since it is off-season, there were plenty of places to visit and dine. Yaris was very clear about where we would meet, taking the short train trip and how much time we would spend at each village. Yaris got us a reservation for lunch right on the harbor. Corniglia was amazing, beautiful skyline drive afterward. Not a cheap excursion but if you only have a day to visit Cinque Terre, it is worth it!

This was a great day trip! Giacomo picked us up promptly at 8:00am in Florence. We met 2 other couples and had a great time. Cinque Terre was amazing! Giacomo did a great job with his narration and story-telling. So enjoyed the 3 villages we toured and got to experience the boat ride. Didn't feel rushed and had plenty of time to explore. He made lunch reservations for all of us, and we had such fun getting to know each other over our meal. This is a don't miss day trip when you're in Florence.

Absolutely horrible experience with Avventure Bellissime, who failed to deliver on what was promised.
We paid SGD1,700 (EUR 1,200) for this trip for 5 people on a private tour. We were promised a driver/tour escort, who basically just dropped us off at the beginning of the trip so we explored the entire of Cinque Terre on our own.
We had to walk 1+km to the vehicle to find our driver, who was unresponsive and line was engaged. We realised that other operators picked up their passengers on the island at a select pick-up point (without the 1km walk!). We later realised its because the operator did not want to pay for the license (EUR 180?) to be able to drive on to the island to pick us up.
You're better off booking tickets on your own than through Viator, or at least not through Avventure Bellissime!

Dear Client,
I've read with great attention to your feedback and checked on my records when we delivered a private tour for 5 people recently: the last one was on the 4th Oct. This allowed me to find out also the driver that was on the tour as without knowing the day and driver I would not have been able to investigate further.
Assuming though that I did the right investigation, we actually had on 4th October a party of 5 people taking a private 5 terre day tour.
I read the report given by the driver advising that the tour started late as clients were not in the correct location and were found by another driver as was leaving florence with another little group of clients.
The tour is operated, as stated in the tour description, by a driver/tour escort ( that is an english speaking driver that gives general information on the area). We've always operated this tour the same way, that is:
When we arrive at 5 terre the driver gets the vouchers for the shared boat to Vernazza and then clients take the boat between the little fishing villlages, get off in Manarola to explore the little village and then board again the boat to reach Vernazza. The driver gives all information about the area prior to boarding the boat and after meeting again in Vernazza at a designated time. That day our driver reported a delay of 20 minutes at designated location and time.
In Vernazza all minivans with drivers have to park near the post office, abou 1km from Vernazza port and that’s the nearest location where touristic vehicles can park. We also do pay an annual fee to be allowed to drive through the cinque terre as far as it is possible to arrive by touristic vehicles used for touring.

Fantastic Way to Spend the Day Visiting Cinque Terre!

We had a great time on this small group tour from Florence to the Cinque Terre. Our tour guide, Giacomo, was knowledgeable, congenial, and thorough. We visited three towns and were able to spend enough time in each to enjoy their beauty and culture. The views of the Mediterranean are magical, and the villages are charming. If you have an extra day while visiting Florence, I would recommend this trip to the Cinque Terre.

Cinque Terre was beautiful but this tour was not fulfilling for the money. We spent 6 hours driving in a cramped van for 4 hours mostly in one village our driver was nice enough but after he bought our boat tickets he left us on our own for the duration. He suggested we only go to one village due to time constraints which we all agreed to. There wasn’t enough to do in one village for 4 hours. In hindsight I wish we had hiked to the other village we were supposed to go to to experience more of the beauty of this area. The towns themselves are extremely crowded but the views of the water are amazing. Also this trip was to include either a spring/summer treat or a fall\winter appetizer which we didn’t get.

Dear Client,
generally it takes about 2 hrs drive to the Cinque terre. At times there might be some more traffic, which we are not responsible for. The van is a mercedes 8 pax minivan and therefore the maximum num of people is 8. Cinque terre is a very popular destiantions and at times villages can be more crowded, especially when there are cruiseships from nearby ports of call. We generally include 3 villages on this tour;Manarola, Vernazza and Corniglia and the driver/tour escort meets again clients after their boat trip. He gives all information about the area prior to the boat ride and after the boat ride when they group meets again. I would need some more information and most important the date of travel, to verify excatly what happened that day. I'm of course sorry the tour did not live up to your expectations.

Drive from Florence is too long. Was supposed to be 2.5 hours but due to traffic was 3. Giovanni our driver was great but we only we given 10 hour trip. 3 hours back to Florence. So 4 hours going from one town to Vernazza by ferry. Waited in ferry line x 20 minutes. Honestly had less Han 3 hours in Vernazza. Not worth the money or time. Would recommend train travel to CT then stay there and travel between towns.

I'm glad your concern is just about traffic and time to get to the cinque terre but that you enjoyed the time spent with our driver-guide.
Of course your advise is good, but only for those that have time to overnight in the 5 terre.
