We loved this tour because we got to see the back country off the beaten path! Our guide was exceptional with lots of information and insight into the area and it's population. We enjoyed being away from the crowds and to see how the locals live!
This was one of the best tours we've ever taken. Pall was absolutely amazing. After a few hours it felt like we were going for a long walk with an old friend. The BEST part of he tour was learning about the history of the area and how it was founded. For us, this was more of learning tour than a sightseeing tour. We took some AMAZING pictures, but we're not going to post them... We'd advise you to experience Cinque Terre in PERSON... With Pall!
This was a superb introduction to the area and teaches one respect for the area and people.
Pall was extremely knowledgeable about the people, terrain and area. He really brought it all to life. He measured the walk according to that which our party could comfortable manage and when looking back we were incredulous how far we had actually come and how high we had been at times with what felt like a mild stroll.
I will be talking about the walk for a long time to come.

If you want a personalized, awesome hiking experience in the Cinque Terre you can do no better than Pall. An American ex-pat from the Notheast he has lived and breathed this area for 16 years. You won't do any better.
Not for the faint of heart. A good walk off the beaten path across vineyards and terraces. In one area there are 1003 steps down. But if able would not miss this tour. We saw 6 other people on our hike -four who were not supposed to be there as Paull take you on trails that are only open to the locals. Paull has been living there for 16 years and has collected history and stories from the locals that you will not find anywhere else. This is the Cinque Terra we wanted to see- off the main trails that were crowded. Paull is definitely opinionated and calls it like he sees it. Some might take offense to some of his vignettes about the authorities and tourists but it gave us a great appreciation of the challenges and needs to maintain such a beautiful place. He loves the area. While the trek-it is not a walk covered 9 miles and 8 hours is rigorous Paull was patient and has rest stops built in to the tour. A nice lunch break was included. We were not able to take the boat ride with Paull as they were not docking in some of the villages, he gave us recommendations for the following day utilizing the ferry services. An experience to never be forgotten
I honestly didn't expect Pall to be able to deliver according to his reviews, which were stellar. But he has been doing these tours for 7 years and he lives in Rio Maggiore. He knows the locals, he has heard stories directly from them, and he has been accepted within the community.
This tour is special for three reasons. First, it's private. You don't have to hang out with 20 strangers, and the low number allows Pall to focus on you and create an experience just for your small group of friends. Second, if you don't know the Cinque Terre, there are a lot of trails and the main ones can get crowded. We passed maybe 10 people all day. Pall knows the back ways around CT and there were some breathtaking views. Third, Pall is a machine for learning. He will tell you about local government, stories about his neighbors and the community, the history of the area while he has been giving tours for 7 years he has lived there for 16, and local vegetation and wildlife. He even gave us a tip on a Michelin star rated restaurant in the area that was incredible, and recommended checking out Porto Venere for something outside of CT to do, which was a great experience. He was talking for 8 straight hours, all while hiking!
There is a bit of hiking, but Pall tailors everything to his group. We put on 10 miles of hiking, but he mentioned that we could have taken some buses if we were tired. It takes me 5 minutes to size up how I should handle a group, He said. And he did a great job of doing that too.
This was my favorite thing we did in our 9 days in Italy and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
June, 2017 - This is an AMAZING tour!! I met Pal, but Birgit was my female guide. First of all, i did not bring poles, so Pal let me borrow a pair. Being a solo female travel I was happy to have a one on one with another female hiker who was very informative. Birgit asked me what i wanted to see. So this isn't a same old, same old hike that everyone takes the same route. We had great views, took some off the regular path trails, which I was very happy to have taken these switchbacks. Birgit took pics of me whenever i wanted to stop for one. Lunch at the restaurant was absolutely delicious and the view was also beautiful. The boat ride back was a welcoming end to a FANTASTIC day!! I miss Cinque Terre
I would highly recommend this guiding service. Very personal to your wants and needs. Even recommended a very nice restaurant for dinner that night.
This tour was amazing and definitely worth to do if you are in Cinque Terre! Pall (our tour guide) was very knowledgable and passionate about this beautiful place. It is one heck of a work out but once you're at the top the view will surely take your breath away! ❤️
This was the highlight of our trip! Our amazing guide Pall is absolutely amazing. He knows the history of the place and makes sure to inform us and tell us about the importance of protecting this place. We were 4 including him and this makes this hike more personal and easier to learn and ask questions. He is very well informed and passionate and extremely friendly. I highly recommend this tour!
Your guide is awesome and knows everything about the area. Well worth the trip! The scenery and what I learned along the way was priceless!
What a work out! The views were spectacular, and Pall was a great guide. He knew the area and the people quite well, and took us to the paths less trodden by other hikers.
The best tour on the Cinque Terre. Your guide Pall knows every inch of this amazing world heritage landscape, its traditions and its people. Don and #39;t just hike the Cinque Terre - understand and appreciate it with expert guide Pall. This tour is highly recommended.
Loved the tour. Bridgette was awesome! you learn about the history, get a good workout with great company. it's totally tailored to you so they'll adjust to whatever your fitness level is. So worth it, best way to spend your time in Cinque Terre!
Incredible experience with this group. We talked to so many people that tried to do this on there own. One person told us he was so disappointed trying it on his own because it was so hot, and crowded. We toured the same day with our guide, and because we took a different route, it was comfortable mostly in shade and we rarely saw any people. If you want to enjoy this beautiful area get this tour group. You will learn history, meet locals along the way, and have a wonderful day. Well worth the money. Thank you Pall and Bridgette...
This tour was amazing! Pall is a great guide. He tells you everything about the area and you learn so much about Cinque Terre.
The trek is very personalized and Pall lets you decide between a couple different ways to go, depending on what you want to see. Pall communicates with you thoroughly before the trip, and it was easy to meet up with him. I had a wonderful time and I can't wait to visit again.
This tour blew my mind! Pall and #39;s wealth of knowledge of the area is second to none. He knows all the locals, as he is one.
I can and #39;t recommend this tour enough, it and #39;s a must when visiting the area.
I will be a returing customer when I and #39;m back in the region.
This tour was an amazing way to hike the Cinque Terre. Pall was an excellent guide who was not only enthusiastic about his job, but also committed and willing to give everyone in our group a memorable experience.
Halfway through the hike, Pall took us to restaurant Gli Ulivi in Volastra. Fantastic. The food was delicious and the staff were typical friendly and social Italians.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience a different side of the Cinque Terre and gain some knowledge about the area as well.
Thank you for a wonderful 25th birthday experience, Pall!
Learned so much history and cultural information from Pall! I cannot say enough about what a great challenge, and learning experience this whole day was for me! Seeing the way that the people live, farm and thrive up close and personal is very different from just walking through all of it. Pall is a truly wonderful guide! I loved every minute of the whole day. Highly recommend this over just doing your own hike. He knows the best trials, and you learn all about the area. The ferry ride home allows you to see what you really accomplished along the hiking path too. Awesome!!!
Pall the Trekguyd was my private hiker and he brought me off the beaten path. He showed me many wild plants, herbs and informed me of a lot of interesting facts. We stopped for lunch in Volastra and he recommended their specialty of pesto -- was THE BEST pesto I've had ever! I would definitely recommend Pall.

This is a 'Must Do' for anyone visiting Cinque Terre. Our guide, Pall, was fabulous! We hiked for about eight hours through the vineyards and along the cliffs. We would consider the difficulty at easy/moderate. There are many steps and hills, but Pall is extremely conscious of your safety and comfort. Highly recommend this Excellent Tour!
Absolutely amazing!! Gorgeous hike and land but the true Ed to the entire excursion was pall! Best guide I have ever had for any trip. Totally makes the experience what it should be with tremendous knowledge and caters to whatever you want/need. Definitely use pall as your guide, you won't regret it
We had Pall as our tour guide who is extremely informative. We really enjoyed his company. The pace was easy for any age group. He took the time out the night before the tour to meet with us and show us around and advise on places to eat and little short cuts through Riomaggorie. Great guy.
Pall was an excellent TrekGuyd, very friendly and experienced. We met at Riomaggiore railway station as arranged and as we walked he took time to describe the history of this fascinating place and its people. The views were breathtakingly beautiful both on the trek, and from the passenger ferry on the return. We wholeheartedly recommend this trek as the perfect way to see the best of Cinque Terre.
This is the BEST activity that you can do in the Cinque Terre! Pall knows the area so well and will give you an insider's view of this beautiful region...something that you certainly won't get if you try to hike the trails on your own! I highly, highly recommend this tour! Best part of our trip!
