Begin your full day's exploration of the nature and wildlife of Yellowstone National Park with pickup at your hotel in Cody, Wyoming. In a comfortable tour vehicle, travel 50 miles (80km) along the Buffalo Bill Scenic Byway and enter the park through the East Gate.
Choose between two itineraries, the Upper Loop or the Lower Loop. Both tours emphasize nature photography, ecology, geology, and wildlife viewing. The Lower Loop Tour has a greater emphasis on the parks geology and thermal features including the famous geyser Old Faithful. Wildlife is the primary attraction of the Upper Loop Tour, along with spectacular scenery including the rugged Absaroka Mountains, Hayden Valley and several waterfalls.
Either way, you'll learn about the history and environment of the park from your guide, an experienced nature photographer and naturalist. Get photo-worthy views of verdant valleys, looming mountains, alpine lakes and geothermal hot spots. Spy wildlife such as bighorn sheep, moose, elk, bison, mountain lions, gray wolves, black bears and grizzly bears. You have a good chance of spotting wildlife, since your guide has been exploring Yellowstone's 2.2 million acres (890,300 hectares) for several decades and knows where the animals like to hang out.
At the end of your full day exploring Yellowstone, enjoy convenient drop-off back at your Cody hotel.
