Take the chance to visit Drachenfels cliff and castle ruins during your cruise

Head to Cologne’s riverside in the morning to board the boat, then relax on the 4-hour cruise along the scenic Rhine, the longest river in Germany. Enjoy live commentary and take in the scenic panorama of the majestic castles, churches and vineyards on the shoreline along the way.
Upon arrival in Königswinter, a summer resort city in the Rhein-Sieg district, there will be between two and four hours of free time. Enjoy lunch and wander at a leisurely pace, or choose to visit one of two popular local attractions, included as part of the cruise pass.
As one option, visit the the Sea Life Königswinter Aquarium, with more than 120 species and 2,000 animals in 36 fascinating displays. See the Octopus Cave, Jurassic Seas, the ghost ship with an open Ray tank and much more. Also, be sure to see Germany’s unique 360-degree, acrylic glass tunnel and touch a starfish or hold a crab in the interactive rockpool, if so inclined. It’s fantastic fun for the entire family.
The other option is to ride the cog railway up to the Drachenfels, a hill in the Siebengebirge uplands between Königswinter and Bad Honnef, featuring the ancient ruins of Drachenfels Castle overlooking the Rhine Valley.
At the designated time, reboard the cruise ship for a condensed, 2.5-hour cruise back to Cologne.

A very pleasant and relaxing trip down the Rhine. The ship was comfortable and there is good quality catering, beer, coffee etc which can be enjoyed while sailing peacefully to Konigswinter. There is just about enough time to see the ruined castle and at this late in the season, there was no late boat back. Nevertheless this suited well to get back around 18.00 and the day was thoroughly enjoyable.

Not quite what we expected but the destination of Konigswinter is lovely. Definitely recommend the cog rail trip to Drachenfels and the walk to nearby Scloss Drachenburg. Boat was comfortable with table service food and wine.

Es war ein wunderschöner Tag! Die Bootsfahrt und auch die Fahrt mit der Zahnradbahn auf den Deachenfels und Schloss Drachenburg waren sehr schön. Auch den Kindern hat es gut gefallen!!

Overall, a very nice cruise! Trip to Konigswinter felt a little long with not much narration about what we were seeing. But Konigswinter and Drachenfels Cliff more than made up for it. Konigswinter is an exceedingly charming little town and the ruins at Drachenfels had spectacular views.

Very nice tour overall. More narrative about the buildings along the Rhine would have been appreciated. The train to the top of the mountain was fun!
