After a tour of the fortresses head to stunning Roskilde Cathedral, the burial spot for numerous kings and queens. Finally, finish the tour at the Viking Ship Museum. We offer a hotel pickup from most hotels in the centre of Copenhagen. We will pick you up 30-50 minutes before the tour starts. You will receive an e-mail with the exact pickup time at least 24 hours prior to the tour. We do NOT go to hotels outside the city center. This includes hotels near the airport such as Crowne Plaza and AC Bella Sky and hotels in the Nordhavn area such as Adina Apartments. Certain hotels which are located within a few minutes' walk of the starting point are also not included because you would spend a lot more time getting picked up and then driven around to other pick ups rather than just walk a few minutes directly to the starting point of the tour if you are staying right next to it. You are very welcome to contact us to inquire about specific hotels. Your bus for the day is a plain white mini-bus. If you have any doubts regarding your pickup please feel free to call the tour operator, Hamlet Tours, at +4530700667. PLEASE NOTE: The tour will involve a lot of walking and steep stairs. As the historic sights are not equipped for accessibility, the tour is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or for people having difficulties with long distances of walking.

Difficult

Our flight was canceled by the airline the night before our tour. I contacted the tour operator by phone and was told I could reschedule and to email them. It took 24 hours for them to respond by email and they told me no refund, no reschedule. They sent their cancelation policy that says if for unforseen reasons you couldn't make the tour, it would be refunded. When I asked again, they said no and said they could not tell it was unforseen and would not refund it.

There is nothing in the terms and conditions saying that you can cancel if you do not make it to the tour for "unforeseen" reasons. We have no idea where you have that from. Which we told you. The terms and conditions are clear and simple. You can cancel up to 24 hours before the tour and get a full refund. But if you cancel later than that there is no refund and it does not matter what caused your cancellation. I am pretty sure that if you had missed your flight because our tour was late the airline would also not have given you free new tickets. We are not a charity and we can not just give you new tickets when you miss your tour.

The tour was great but the tour guide Benjy was terrible. He chided 2 guests who were late and publicly shamed them while using the microphone during the tour. We also could not hear at all when he talked on the bus. He was nasty when we asked him to wait for the guests behind us. Would never take a tour with him again.

Our family of six (three generations) had a great day out with Benjie. He was a great guide with a sense of humour mixed with an incredible knowledge of Danish history which he shared with 15 guests. It was great that he included our almost-8-year-old, especially in the dungeons at Kronborg Castle - the kids loved that. It's a long day, nine hours, but the time flew. The Viking ships' story is fascinating, the cathedral and Fredericksborg are stunningly beautiful, and the story of Kronborg ....did Shakespeare visit or not?
