I had a great experience with Mia on this tour! I was traveling solo on the back end of another trip and was the only person on the guided tour. It was a great way to see a neighborhood that you wouldn't on the standard walking or biking tours and get a lot of great color around the culture and customs in Copenhagen. The tour had 3 stops - each including a full beer. I would actually prefer to have done a full tasting at one or two of the stops to see the range in beer, but that's really my only feedback. Overall, a great time!
Huge thanks to Sore and Urban Adventures for not cancelling on me when I was the only one booked for the Tuesday afternoon beer tour! Not only did I get all of the standard tour content history of Vesterbro, info about the beer culture, details on the meat packing industry, but he was also very attentive to my questions about Copenhagen in general and gave me a lot of recommendations for how to spend the rest of my time there. I think this tour would be really fun with a group but was still good just the two of us.
Excellent cultural tour of a neighborhood with a provocative history. Definitely a tour off the beaten path and one not to be missed! We walked away with a better understanding of Danish approach to gentrification, drug-use/abuse, sex work, and homelessness, and urban transformation. Drinking beer like a local as equal billing with culture. We had three beer stops this day, for cultural exchange and discussion, and where we drank one of the best chocolate stouts we have ever had! Not a beer fan? Don't worry. Even the non-drinker among our group of five was quite pleased with the tour. HIghly recommend.
I was the only one on my tour so I had a private guide for 3 hours which was great! I learnt a lot about the area and life growing up in Copenhagen from my guide James. The bars we stopped off at were great too!
We had a little hiccup meeting up with our guide James Viator's receipt is 4 pages long and I missed saving all the details on the meeting place, however the owner Mia received my panic call from the train station, immediately came to us and escorted us to meet with James, what outstanding services is that? James was very knowledgeable about the culture of Vesterbro and the recent social changes, it was fascinating. We had wonderful beer in three very different bars/micro breweries. I would really recommend this to anyone who would like to dive a little deeper into the Danish culture.
This was a phenomenal tour. Mie is an amazing wealth of knowledge and passion for this beautiful city and unique neighborhood. She was attentive to my questions. I felt as though I was with a local friend, which is what we all secretly wish when we travel solo. If you want to be taken off the beaten path, and connect with Copenhagen on a different level, take this tour. You will learn the history of the Vesterbro neighborhood, enjoy local art, life, and beer. My best advice would be to take this tour on your first day, and Mie will help you plan out the rest of your trip. Don't miss out on this one of a kind tour.
A wonderful tour and Mie was extremely knowledgable about Vesterbro and Copenhagen's beer culture. We had four beer stops although by the fourth stop, we opted for flavored water and even if you are not a beer lover, the tour would still fantastic. Mie was extremely customer focused and made some adjustments on the fly when she heard about our interests. We learned so much about the area, and about Copenhagen. At the end of the tour, she gave us other recommendations of places to visit/things to do based on our interests. Highly recommended!!!
