Terrible experience not...

Terrible experience not worth the money and I did not even get to see much of Albania. The Internet pictures and description did not live up to expectations

I am very disappointed in this as i had lack of communication being told the wrong time when turned up at pick up point was told they had already left this tour was for my kids they where excited from when we left home to when we got to Greece costumes service is saying I said there was traffic so cudnt make it when my hotel from pick up point was literally waking distance of 3mins away I am very disappointed and they have taken £139 for something they didn’t pick us up for and a tour i didn’t go on

Queues at passport control - one hour in hot sun no protection. Boat leaves an hour late. Interesting tour around historical sight. Non-fish eaters only received alternative 5mins before leaving restaurant. One hour at port upon return after transfer buses had to wait for another ship time arrive and those people join.

Huge visit I really loved it . The French guide was great and Sarenda nice place to visit . Butrint excellent place although too hot to visit I’m summer

The experience was as promised. The UNESCO site was wonderful and our guide was highly knowledgeable. The lunch was ho hum with pricey (for Albania) drinks. We were then dropped off for an hour of free time in the center of the city. €1 ice cream and nice Knick knacks to buy. We had the pick up and drop off and it went smoothly.

Good but has a lot to improve

I was really looking forward to the trip especially when reading the length of time and the hotel pickups were available. But there are some improvements.
1) the hotel pickup nearly missed us and I had to wave my hands before he saw us. He then told me and others we were not on his list, then said we were.
2) the pickup also included people going on other trips, which was really unfair, as it wasted time for us to get to customs check to get to Albania. Once the whole coach is collected then we made our way to the port, where the other trip people are dropped off first before we are then dropped off to customs.
3) now it’s nearly 9am, the cruise leaves at 9.30. More than 100 people are waiting in the hot sun, with no shade to get through customs clearance. This could have been completed quicker had we been dropped off earlier, instead of rushing.
(If you’re a single parent, make sure you have parental consent from the absent parent, else you will not be allowed through, felt sorry for the lady who did not have this)
The good bits:
Albania trip on the boat is pleasant and fast. When you get to Albania, your coach is there waiting, which is air conditioned and they have relevant translators on board. This was really great. This person is also your tour guide at the ruins.
The ruins themselves are great, but didn’t really much time to explore as you’re wanting to listen to the guide. It’s a beautiful site. I really enjoyed it.
There is a museum but unfortunately you don’t have time to visit as it’s then time to leave for lunch.
The lunch itself was really great, one improvement would be to have two buffet stands as there is a massive queue of people, ie two coaches worth trying to queue up.
The food was really tasty, drinks are bought separately but fair priced. The view from the place is beautiful overlooking the sea and the people are pleasant.
After lunch you’re taken to town to explore or shop, but we didn’t have any maps and it was quite hard to find out where to walk around in the vicinity as you have 1 hour.
If you’re back early, the coach will be locked and you cannot sit in the coach as it’s locked. So you’re left sitting on the wall at a park which are filled with homeless people and I really felt for them.
It would have been to have a map of the local area with some places to go ie the route to the beach or places of interest.
Albania is a beautiful country with lots to offer and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to go. Just think the transportation at the start could have been delivered a lot better and more time at the ruins, which sadly is taken away because of time wasted in the morning.

Viator plateform itself is very good.
But tour operators get confused when I changed my hotel then pickup place.
I had to call many times to make sure my pick up time. Even though my pickup did not come, finally they sent a taxi.
And I did not understand why I had to pay extra 10€

Most enjoyable day trip, Butrint Roman ruins v interesting and our guide was very knowledgeable. Buffet lunch had plenty to choose from& the surprise trip to Castle look put afterwards was great! Only negative is that 1 hour free time too short, if a later sailing of 5pm rather than 4pm from Saranda could be arranged then that leaves more free time to wander. Overall a lovely day trip!
