Maximize your time in the beautiful city of Cork on an enriching full-day shore excursion to Blarney Castle and other historical highlights. Greet your courteous guide at Cork Harbour and travel through splendid Irish countryside to the ancient structure of Blarney Castle. Gain free admission to the 13th-century landmark and kiss the world-renowned Blarney Stone for good luck. Return to Cork for a panoramic coach tour of the city’s sights; visit the charming town of Kinsale; and make a brief stop in Cobh, famed for being the departure point of the ill-fated Titanic, before returning to Cork Harbour.
We enjoyed Blarney Castle but wish we would have been allowed more time there. The line to the top was about 1.5 hours of solid people all the way up. The only way up is a VERY narrow and unstable spiral stone staircase that goes up about 100 steps, maybe more - FYI it becomes MUCH more narrow and closed in towards the top. Many people with claustrophobia issues were turning around frustrated once they reached this staircase. If you don't mind the climb, the view from the top is beautiful, Our group all opted to pass on kissing the stone. The other MAJOR recommendation i would make is to skip Kinsale our lunch stop and take people back to Cobh. We REALLY wish we would have had more time to walk around the adorable town our ship was docked in but had to board our ship. Cobh seemed far more interesting and beautiful than Kinsale.
We did not kiss the Blarney Stone and opted instead not to stand on line for 2 hours but instead saw all the gardens and had lunch a a small cafe on the grounds and enjoyed ourselves so much more.
The gardens at Blarney Castle are worth the trip. The one tree is like nothing I have ever seen. I would suggest , spend more time in the garden than trying to get up to the Blarney stone. The little village and shop near the Castle make for a very nice setting. This tour far exceeded my expectations.. .
Very good tour and very personable guide. Would like to see itinerary altered to include more time in Kinsale ans some time in Cork.
We had a Paddy Wagon tour here also. We can not say enough about this tour company.
Perfect tour for this area
