Granada Walking Tour with Alhambra Gardens

The Alhambra, Granada

Greet your local guide in a central Costa del Sol location and relax in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan during the journey to Granada. Stop briefly in Riofrio along the way to discover a quaint village with a gorgeous green landscape.

On arrival, head straight inside the majestic Moorish palace and begin your guided tour; listen to the intriguing origin of the palace complex and see for yourself why the site is considered on of the most beautiful examples of Islamic architecture in the world.

Stroll through the Nasrid Palaces and hear of the extravagant emperors that lived within them; note the stark contrast of the Renaissance style of the Charles V Palace; and then take a leisurely wander through the Generalife Gardens to see exotic flowers and distinctive water features in harmonious display.

Continue to Granada’s charming center and enjoy a traditional Spanish lunch at a rustic restaurant (own expense). Discover more of Granada’s impressive monuments during some relaxed free time and then relax during the drive back to Costa del Sol.

Advance bookings are highly recommended, as Alhambra access is limited to a specific amount of guests each day.

Fabulous day out!!
Well organised, picked up on time, excellent information from Carmen once inside the Palace.
No queues, no waiting around, the only criticism would be we didn't get time to browse round the shop.

I'm not sure you can go to southern Spain and miss a day trip to Granada. The Gardens were lovely and the palace gave us such a sense of amazing Ottoman architecture and easy to see how the Spanish reinvented some motifs which eventually became what we see in the southwest of the US. A good day trip - it's a must.

tour guide and driver were pleasant and knowledgeable .English is limited versus Spanish even if the majority of tourists were English speaking. The tour guide for the Alhambra Palace was very good and knowledgeable but again not as clear in English as in Spanish. I'm sure the Gardens were more colorful in the spring and summertime, but overall we enjoyed the Palace and the recommendations for lunch and places to go in the city center of Granada were accurate .Wish we had more time.

Beautifull gardens and palace, definitely worth a visit.Helps to put the hystory of the moorish invasion of Spain into reality. If visiting out of season take warm cardigan or coat as positioned in the mountains and really cold in the gardens and palace.Trip well organised with plentry of coffee breaks.
